Hello,
It may be a longshot, but I does anyone know if there is a schematic for an 85-88 Maxima digital dash? Specifically, I'm looking for the vacuum fluorescent display and led driver circuitry. Thanks in advance! -- Greg

Nissan has never published board schematics, that stuff is all proprietary (especially since Nissan doesn't actually manufacture any electronics). I think the best you'll do is a pinout. I can tell you from some other VFD boards that the electrolytic capacitors are almost always the failure point. Replace all of them out of hand and there's a good chance it will work again.

Thanks, I think you are confirming what I suspected. I can't even find a datasheet for what I believe are the LED driver chips (OKI M5837). Point taken about old dried out electrolytics.

Actually, I'm not trying to repair it. I'm wanting to turn it into a display item by animating it with a microcontroller. I can tap directly into the VFD chips and the LED bar, I was just hoping to reuse some of the existing driver circuitry in order to avoid having to duplicate existing circuitry (which I can do if all else fails).

Thanks,
Greg
