First of all, just a quick question, what are the 2003 g35 coupe's governed at?

but secondly, the main point for this thread: If you had a stock g35 coupe, and $700, what besides the popcharger, z tube, and plenum spacer would you recommend buying?

If you already have the listed mods, then put the money towards an exhaust.

Yup I agree... if you have those mods already...put it towards an exhaust! Unless you are also looking at cosmetic upgrades??

+1 for Joe

ok, given that i only have 700 bucks to blow, how would i be able to afford an exhaust worth upgrading to? should i just try and pull together 500 more for the stillen? also, my g35 came with the sport package, and the reason i say besides those parts is because the pictures people post of their stock intake is not what mine looks like, i will take a picture and post it.

I see...what pics are you looking at of peoples intakes that are different from yours??

The mods we all suggested earlier (intake, spacer etc) should definitley fit an 03

Those are FOR SURE where you want to start.

I WOULD NOT look at getting any sort of exhaust for $700... unless you know of a reputable one for that little $$$

Post some pics my friend!

Yes, start with the air intake, then work to the tailpipe. Always a good rule to follow.

yea it has the sport package so i just wanted to make sure that it would work/make a big difference, and how much added horsepower are we talking in all with the plenum spacer, z tube, and popcharger?

With all 3, I think its safe to say around 15-20HP. Exhaust will round it out to 30HP total. But the sound you get from the popcharger/z-tube/spacer is worth it! Very cool intake whoosh noise when you get on the throttle. Can't comment on the exhaust yet...but it would be hard to hear over my stereo anyway

Question, since the 07's engine has been retrofitted with almost all newly re-designed parts. Do things like MREV2/JWT/Ztube/Spacer fit the new block or do I have to wait?

oh its just another spacer, ok, so with a little over 700 i could get an MREV2/JWT POPSHARGER/Z TUBE? nice, but still, once again, can someone explain to me what a spacer/mrev2 is, what it does, and where it goes, and if i could install it myself, and also, if i got a z tube, would this thing be worth buying: http://www.turbonator.com/index.html ? and is that thing worth buying anyway? i mean, its only like $50, has anyone gotten it?

Ok...stay away from that $50 turbo thing...all research I did on it says it's complete crap and a waste. yes you can get all those mods for just over $700. They are ALL worth it!

I highly recommend you buy through Joe at Everythingg35.com. Very helpful!

Ok, If you look at your engine cover and lift it off..all of those mods go there. Except the popcharger and Ztube which connect to the right side (you need to remove that big black "boxy" looking thing.

They really aren't difficult to install (I'm in no way close to mechanically inclined and I did mine), just more time consuming. I also STRONGLY recommend you use torque wrench for the spacer.

Go to this link

http://www.g35parts.com/9083/o...58_21

You will see the Spacer (you want the 5/16 Thermol and scroll to the bottom to look at the MREV It will also give you detailed info on all the mods. Again, talk to Joe in parts for any questions!

I have spoken to Joe...if there is a group buy of 5 or more the price on the MREV2 will be $390 each which includes shipping.

Hope that helps, let us know what you decide...and happy modding!!

I might be getting the mrev soon,in about a week or so,let me know if folks are gonna be interested in this group buy thing. Also Chron just so you know,if you have the 2003,don't get the plenum space if you are planning on getting the MREV....with both I was told the car will run lean I believe,or rich, not sure, but believe it's lean, either way it's not good. So if anything get the jwt popcharger/ztube combo and the mrev,if you have 2003.

A torque wrench will ensure you don't overtighten the bolts when installing the spacer. I started to do mine without it (even though they recommended it) and I snapped a bolt (my bad) They are not expensive.

I also just noticed I quoted the wrong price for 5 MREVS = $400 not $390 ...don't ask me where my head is today...sorry for the misquote

10 or more will be $390.00

You can get the spacer without the MREV but I don't think you can get the MREV without a spacer...I may be wrong. Besides... you want both...if your doing one, since you have everything apart you might as well do both at the same time!

trust me ...you want both...then you want an exhaust...

Think about it, uyou have all this air coming in...now you want it out just as fast right?

hear what Gwhizz? about not using the mrev and the spacer togethe, or the group buy? Both were from you. You mentioned to get the 390 price in your post we'd have to order 5 or more. The spacer info I asked and you gave me a quote from someone that said using both would make the car run lean or rich.
