I've noticed that my Versa Sedan runs about 183+- while driving. When I sit at a light, etc. it will climb up to 210+ before the fan comes on (at which time it will drop back to to 183+-). My Nissan Truck runs about 176+- and seldom climbs (even at a stop). Those of you with the ScanGauge - have you noticed the same thing?

Thanks!

Normal for that to happen. Temp rises when not moving, most stock fans turn on around 210-212 degrees.

I'm going to get a Scan Guge next month when I'm in the U.S. again...primarily for the fuel use info and to see what the correlation is to MPG's by wind conditions.

The instant read out of the fuel use should tell me if my instinct is correct that the Versa MPG's are very suseptible to 'head wind and tail wind' influence.

The other number that I need is the avg Highway MPGs under normal weather conditions.

The Versa has had a complete dealership check up for air/fuel mix and other spec-checks and came up...normal.Then 2 road checks by the dealership for fuel use and the numbers where dismal to say the least. 22 to 24 MPG's 95% Highway miles.

I'm hoping that a Scangauge will give me some clue as to why my V is a Gas-Hog.

The only excuse they gave me was that I was using Mobile -1 during the "break in period" and the rings didn't seat. I have 11,400 miles and no sign of MPG's improving.

Did you change your oil when the vehicle was new? The break-in period is less than the first scheduled oil change. We're getting mid thirties on the highway. High winds certainly effect the vehicle. Like every other vehicle I've owned, going into a strong wind will drop highway mpg. The Versa drops into the high twenties. Easily get forty mpg with a strong tail wind.
