with the large windshield and angle of it no issues at all.....just in tunnels or large overpasses......I tried to find an adaptor for the factory antenna becasue I have XM also, but haven't came up with one yetNugun80 wrote:You don't find that the reception often cuts out. I had the antenna in my 4 Runner on the dash and had to move it to the roof for that reason.
I was considering buying a portable unit but I was hoping for a unit that would use the factory XM harness, if one exists. I know they have the units for other car manufacturers but have yet to see one for Nissan.
Unless you have the convenience package, the wiring from the stereo HU to the rear of the car doesn't even exist.bulld0g wrote:with the large windshield and angle of it no issues at all.....just in tunnels or large overpasses......I tried to find an adaptor for the factory antenna becasue I have XM also, but haven't came up with one yet
I actually did get the convenience package but still can't find an aftermarket receiver that would work with the factory harness. There are usually adapter you can use but apparently not for Nissan. I guess I'll just go with a stand alone unit.Ever Victorious wrote:

If you DO have the wiring, then buying the OEM XM antenna will get you the antenna... but that doesn't solve the problem of getting it hooked up to a "portable" unit.

let me restate that I still used the AUX cable , that pic doesn't show it......I have a 90 degree one and have it tuck right under the radio into the plastic dash piece right under the radio....I will see if I can get a pic of itLanthom wrote:bulld0g, how do you have it plugged into the AUX port without seeing any cables? Your part is in the Versa Triangle and you will never find it.But your passenger might show it to you some day and ask you what this part is.Lanthom wrote:That would be wonderful! Although I feel like a complete idiot now because I was working on it earlier to give myself a little more slack and have lost a screwdriver bit. I was prying open the dash and then realized that it was missing. Not sure exactly what happened to it and can't find it in the cab of my car so I think it may have fallen into my dash itself. Anyone have any clue where it might have fallen to? I am almost certain it didn't fall into the air vents. I did some driving around the block a few times but didn't hear it.
