Id say you run the same motor but try using a 38 DGES Weber on that mo'fo.

xD I havn't mentioned I have 39.5 13.5 15 tires coming to me soon.. I might have to move up to stronger axles sooner than I think, but I'll try to baby it as much as possible.

I'll be running a chevy 350, I'm still not sure how the automatic will act with the larger tires and higher gearing, I'm hoping it will be better than a manual.. else I'll have to regear.

Those rubbers are definitely motivational.. been up half the night thinking about the next part of the build.

I figured you were going with a 350 was just wondering about the datsun rear end you were using. Same gearing thing your already thinking about.

I'm not too worried about the rear end, you just don't hear about those breaking often. Visio is pushing some high HP to his rear and even miller locked it, still no issues to date. The front however I'm betting I'll break on my first trip to any real wheeling spot, I just don't have the option of using a different axle yet. I could go with full width half ton gear but thats not really an upgrade imo.

I'm totally poor-manning this build, I'll get away with whatever I can until I'm forced to change it. Gears for axles I know I probably won't keep are just out of the budget =) I'll let you know how it works out with the 350ci/th350/np205. If I can find a bolt on adapter from a th350 to a mated np205 and run the divorced 205 behind that then I won't worry about gears in the pumpkins. I plan to keep my build threads ongoing with updates on trial and error for years after this is finished.

Got some progress today with the 3/4 eliptical springs out back, cut the rear springs out of a 70's gmc pickup for my half springs.. pics tomorrow.

Putting the project on hold for a while as the guy with the tools (mig, plasma, torches) decided to pack up and do his own thing. I will continue to fab up parts as I have time. Meanwhile I will be saving up for a decent mig, like a miller 212 or better unless I come across a good yard sale/craigslist mig.
