It's either one or the other for this paycheck. Here's my situation:

I can get a SAFCII for $250 (Canadian) brand new. The guy needs it gone and it's brand new in the box, never used, and has the reciept for it.

I can also get a Greddy oil catch can for $90 Canadian brand new as well.

This is where I need your input. At the moment the engine is pretty much bone stock minus a port and polish, 3 angle valve job, blow off valve, a Z32 MAF. and the CA T25. I have 550cc injectors and a boost controller. I can't really find the SAFCII converter being all that useful to me at the moment because if I start boosting higher than stock I would need a better fuel pump and a better FPR so I can take advantage of my injectors. And also again, the turbo is only a CA T25 so it's not too big.

My engine isnt in the car yet so the SAFCII would be sitting for a while and not really getting any use until I got a better turbo, FPR, and pump.

On the other hand, since I had the entire engine 'rebuilt', cleaned out (intake, head, and block), I could find the oil catch can come in handy when I get the engine in the car within the next 2 weeks or so.

So that's my dilemma. What would you choose? It's either one or the other for the time being.

I vote SAFC, your engine isn't gonna run with those injectors and mafs without it, but it will run just fine all day with no catch can.

a catch can is for when you start wearing out the motor and you have a little blow-by.

You will not need it for quite some itme yet.

Get the SAFC. On a freshly rebuilt motor, you'll RARELY need that catch can. That's a good deal for the SAFC. You'll need it to run the Z32 MAFS and 550's regardless of whether you turn up the boost or not.

if you waste your money on a fruity catch can I will have to hunt you down and run you over with my razor scooter. leave the stock stuff in there and get fuel control for sure.

Oh dam, you way be F-ed on that one. I am in the states now so I can"t check my FSM for the CA16. If you haven't got it by July 20 email me and I will look it up, I'll be back then. I have the FSM for the CA16 as it came in he J-spec pulsars, it should be the same.

Good buy! The only reason that I got the catch can that I have is because DriftFactory ahd them on sale and I couldn't pass it up. 5 months and barely anything in there.

when HKS first started doing drag meets on Okinawa one of the rules was that you had to have an oil catch can to race. I protested but they said "we don't want oil on the track". I opened the hood and showed them my stock RB20DET with all the factory venting in tact and asked "uh, something like that perhaps". Stupid asses just wanted to sell catch cans. They changed the rules, a lot of rule get changed because of me
