So I have a s13 sr with a 3071r topmount and a tial 38mm wastage on 13 psi spring, tomei poncams, z32 maf, Isis intake mani and i think that's it Chipped by Efispecialist. The car ran fine just seemed like I could get alittle more hp with better afr so I installed a safc and when I started it, it ran like crap and won't idle. I can get it to stay on only if I push the peddle. So I took the safc out and now the car still won't run so do u think it fried my chips in my ecu????

not sure, but did you initialize your SAFC correctly?

Wire it up.
IGN on.
Intialize it.
IGN off.
IGN on.
Set settings hotwire sensor, 2in for z32 maf... not sure of out setting. 1 1 cal.
Make sure as of now all Hi and LO throttle settings are 0 (no compensation)
IGN off.
START car.
@ this point your SAFC is only telling the ecu that your running a z32 maf and to compensate for it. Shouldnt affect how it runs.

ALTHOUGH i'm not sure if the z32 compensation is messing with the readings that the ECU is already compensating for. B/c if you ecu is chipped for a z32 maf... I'm not sure if you just put stock sr maf in and out settings.

Good luck. Hope it works out.

Hooking up an SAFC shouldn't damage an ECU unless the wiring was messed up and you sent 12v into something you shouldn't have. As for settings, since the ECU was already chipped for the Z32 MAFS, IIRC, it's 2 in, 2 out.

The fact that you removed the SAFC and are still having issues makes me lean towards a mis-wire damaging the ECU. Have you tried to pull codes from the ECU and see if anything pops up?
