I'm having a conflict with myself. I want to get the S15 conversion done on my 90' 240sx, I can get the kit from Importfan.com, although that kit looks hot, It's not a wide body kit, the main thing I like about the s15 conversion is the headlamp conversion from the flip open lights to the projector headlamps of the s15, the wide body kit that jacquemond has is awesome. As far as the fenders and the rear valance, jacquemond is what I'd prefer. My question is that would it be possible for me to do the s15 conversion AND also have the jacquemond wide body kit?? Would the fenders fit? Would I need adjustment? I am thinking that it would require custom work from a professional, but don't you guys think it would be hot? I need some input, thanks.

I just got the 90' 240sx and it's ALL stock, which is the way I like it. The jacquemond wide body kit is 4000 + 500 for shipping to the U.S. since it comes from France I believe. The sr20DET engine . . I can get off ebay for about 1500 or less, unless someone can help me find a great deal. Right now, the car runs awesome. It's only got 66k miles on it and there are no mechanical problems. The guy I bought it off of was buying a mustang :-\, lol. There's a scratch across the left passenger side which can be easily fixed and that's about it. I mean, this thing is all stock, so it's not like anyone has messed around with it. I like knowing that the only work done on it is the one I am going to do. :-D. The S15 conversion costs just 2000 with the Drift front bumper, 99 s15 lights and fenders. I am going to start from scratch under the hood first and then work my way out. The last thing I'm going to work on is the interior. First performance . . then exterior, and then the interior. I have to say . . that Jacquemond body kit is one bad mother %^&**R. It almost makes the 240sx look like a Ferarri or something, lol. Well, my goal is a show / race car. Definately not drag, but more like Autocross Solo II style. I might get Signal Auto to work on my car after I buy all the parts for it. They gave me a price quote of 16,000 guaranteeing me at least 800 horsepower. Nice? Definately not Rice, what you think? I can already hear the turbo! lol. And I'm still considering putting a SR26DETT in there, imagine a twin turbo under a 240sx, :-PPP ~Drool~

PS - I do have some money for this. I'm not going to lie and say I have all the money to do all these expensive mods . . but when you love a car so much . . . . anythings possible.

the jacquemond widebody kit is ugly as sh1t! and wit the s15 heads would make it look like a wb honda then a nissan everyone here including myself believes that this is the best widebody kit for the 240. also how did signal give you a price quote for at least an 800hp engine out of an sr20 when they have a sr22 that cariers at least 750-780hp. iDK man...i've seen alot of sr20's that have alot of power, but i never even heard of one break'n 600...check out the engine thread before you start talking about 800hp sr's .

p.s twin turbo sr's were said not to spool up as well as single b/c the engine itself could't produce the power...im not saying that it can't be done but there were only a few succesful ones that i know of

Damn, that is one BAD *** wb kit. Where can I get that? And for how much? You know, even though I live in NYC China Town area . . no one round here is really into 240's, all they like are those nasty riced up civics. I called Signal Auto and they said they could get me upwards of 800hp if I could supply them everything and let them do all the tuning and run the dyno's. I'm not sure what engine that's on. I know the sr20 runs better on a single turbo, but the sr26 is what he could have been talking about, the sr26 definately can make more power. I'm not exactly even looking for th emaximum horsepower. .. I want my car balanced. My minimum is 500, as long as it's more than 500 horsepower . . . it's okay with me. I have about 26k saved up for this project, and I spent 2,000 on the car itself. I have to spend another 600 because of the scratch on the left side and the two dents, and that includes a new paint job. After that's done, I'm going to drop in the sr20 and work around that.

Suggestions . .

i know that that is a nice *** kit. sad thing is that they don't make it anymore (says importfan. im pretty sure if you have about a gallon of red bull and about a weekend you'll find it) and what the hell is a sr26. the only motors made for the 240 is the KA24(S) and D's,CA18's, SR20, and the SR22, unless you are thinking of an RB26 (skyline R34) go to an engine's thread and ask questions about our engines..

I believe Signal Auto and you where a little confused. For 16000 I bet they where thinking you had a RB26DETT. The 800 hp build would include costly twin turbo systems, fmic, electronics, etc. RB26 doesnt just slide into the 240SX as easy as the CA18s and SR20s. As for the body components I cant help ya. Definately do not buy the motor from Ebay.

It's cool. I'm not taking offense to any of this. If I'm going to be schooled, might as well be schooled by the most experienced 240 drivers. Yes ,the signal auto guy, if I remember his name right . .Jun (pronounced June) was talking about an rb26Dett skyline engine and not the sr20. The widebody kit that was posted in this forum besides the jacquemond . . what was that and how much does that go for? And if I can't get that kit anymore ,what's the next best thing? What's the best place to buy an sr20? Another question . . what's the largest rims you can put on a 240 with bigger fenders? I know 'm going to get flamed for asking this . .but here goes . . what i/h/e makes the most power? What are the most power making bolt ons and their availability. Yes, I was talking about rb26 and not sr26 . .typo, sorry, was thinking oto much about sr's.

Adam... aka Daunttless so far is the best place to pick up an SR. No idea on when they will make it here though but they will eventually. He normally charges about 2400 shipped for the SR. You will need other things like fuel pump, downpipe, etc. you can find the list by searching. As for i/h/e ... if you have the money to go SR ($3000 if you install yourself) then save up and go SR. If you dont and you gotta have more power then go with an Injen Short Ram + Ext., Hotshot Header, and an Apexi 3" cat-back. The exhaust will be loud and big for the 2.4L however it will allow to just transfer it over once you swap the SR20. You can then sell the header and intake for a little bit back. Try looking in the buy/sell/trade forum for people selling their used parts. Usually you can find alot better deals.

What's the Daunttless website? Or how can I contact him? What other body parts do I need to get this show on the road? What's the first thing I should do? I want to try and get the entire engine bay cleaned out and the scratch on the left side repaired, and then what? Or should I do something else first? I have been saving money for this project for a long time, and I can afford the best quality parts for it.

PS - Streetable 500 + hp? Is that possible or no (in NY to be more specific). If not, what's legal and what isn't? I mean, I just want to know so the CARB guys aren't on my ***.

PSS - What mpg can I expect if my car is over 500 horsepower? I don't want to be driving a car that runs any less than 10 - 15mpg.

that "jun" guy is actually a company that specializes in nissian engines and they do have a sr20 that is rated at 800 hp. it is there race engine. i read about it in some mag. it was a lot more than 16,000 though. i think they have a lesser model that was around that but not nearly as much hp. just to be sure it has a yellow to green valve cover right.

wait a tick you have a hb not a coupe. so you have a j-spec 180 not a silvia. and that looks like a nasty dent in the right front fender.

Yes, I know it's a HB, not a coupe, the HB is faster though, right? t's 140hp and 156 Torque I believe. It's a J-Spec 180.

PS - There's more dents where that came from, but mechanically the car is perfect.

PSS - S15 SR20DET Black Top with VVT: $4,900. What's the differene between all these WT's, black / red tops . .if any difference at all. I mean . .what's the best SR20 to get?

the JUN race sr20 package is not 16k, its more along the lines of 50k...sumthin like that. It was discussed in a back thread on the sr20 forum. Supposedly, it came with a mechanic from japan that installs and tunes it for ya.

From what ive read, there is no speed diff from coupe or hb, only that the coupe handles better cuz of the trunk ( metal trunk lid stiffer den empty glass hatch).

and its pretty much personal pref. on which style u like more.

ahahah, u call that a dent?!?!

Ive got a huge one on my rr drv side quater panel. (stupid damn gaurd rail...i woulda had that drift clean)

please use the search button on the sr's or read the faq....discussed many many times

Get a redtop or a blacktop 180SX motor w/o VVT. Alot of camshafts arent VVT acceptable, like JUN's cams. Plus the motors are alot cheaper than the S14/15 units.

There is no mechanical engine difference between the HB and the coupe. They are both 140 HP and 156 ft/lbs of torque from the same KA24E SOHC engine and same transmission and differential. The only difference is the *** end and the fact that the HB can get the cool JDM 180SX tail lights. BUT, the coupe can get the wicked JDM S13 Silvia trunk lock conversion and looks better (IMO) with the Silvia fron end.

yeah unless you have a 91-94 240 or any other after those years will you find a speed difference. (91-94 155hp same wit the 95-98. the 95 -98's were the heaviest out of the silvia family.) and the legal thing #1, your planning on getting the sr motor (illegal) #2 you will need downpipe (illegal)...hmmm did i miss anything...? the S15 SR20 does produce more STOCK power then any of the previous SR BUT, it is said that you can't get that much power out of them...the SR22 (S15 racing engine) produce's a lot more power BUT againg before i start filling your head up with teh s15, you would'nt even beable to put that motor in your car. it's possible if you have the dough and the connections. the S15 drive, rear alxle, and 6-speed transmission, would all need to be purchase b/c of how the S15 motor is set up. if you had an s14 then you could get away wit it.

the rb26 motor is (i think) a little to big to go in a 180. i've seen one in a s14 b4 and there wasn't even enough space to do a turbo upgrade!

the kit was $3500-4000 if i can remeber correctly. and body kit's are all opinions. the ones that i like are border and GPSports. use the search button or try http://www.takakaira.com/ , http://www.autoimaging.com/, or (if you can read jap) http://www.hibee.net/ihibee/ihibee.html#

the biggest rims that we seen on a 240 was 19's but i wouldn't get anything bigger the 18's though (i your going for a clean look)

damn i could or summed all of this up just by saying "USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!!!!!!!!!"

Haha, yeah, but then again . . how would we know you're experienced if you didn't sum it all up for the newb? Thanks a lot man. I have another question, there was a website I found that had tail lights for the 240sx, LED style and they were ultra powerful. . .http://www.clearcorners.com/pr...0sx1/ It's clearcorners.com. Is it good or garbage? Do you know anyone who got those lights? Just put it this way guys . .if you had 26 - 30 thousand to spend on an all stock 90 240sx fast back . . . what would you do it? I mean, in the end it depends on what i like, but your opinions will help . . .A LOT. I also need some suggestions on the interior. I want to get the strawberry face conversion done, someone on the board said it will make it look like a honda and not a nissan, but I want to get it done cause the projectors look hot, but then again . . hid's for the front flip open lights would be hot too.

suggestions...

i belive that i said it would look more like a honda ONLY AND I MEAN ONLY if you get the Jacquemond wide body kit. as of now the s15hl's are the hottest conversions to date. with the LED's i was looking at getting them right after i got into my accident but then i spent up most of my money on a girl (dextar: your sooo stuuuupid. me: thanx dex). me myself if i had 26-30 to spend on a 240 i would.....NOT tell anyone. when it's done i would just post it on this site. but thats the difference between me and you. NOT dissing anything that your doing now but since you don't know then your just going to have to ask the qustions. your better off going into the GENRAL CHAT section where you'll find alot more help you out wit your $30K dilema.

just thought i clear up the jun business. it is rated at 800 hp and the turbo is the size of a small honda. anyway i was wrong about the price for the engine, it is 100,00 grand not 50. if you want stupid hp just go buy a skyline.

I'm not paying all that money to legalize a skyline in the states, I'm not crazy. And the only skyline I'm interested in is the R34 which is way out of my league. The 240sx though . . that's my new project . . project Wide Body Sylvia-SX, lol. I still haven't found that wide body kit, and I've been loking for it since I saw that pic last morning in the forum. I had a few newb questions for you guys . .I love manual, and that's why I bought it . .but to a person who doesn't like manual . .how do you explain to them that manual is better than automatic, and . .is it better? I know it lets you switch gears . . in turn giving you more control but what else is it good for? I heard that high performance parts kill an automatic transmission, is that another reason? ? ? Also, about the i/h/e . . yes I am going sr . . SO. . what i/h/e should I use that will give me the best performance for an sr swap in my 90 240sx hb? Money isn't too much of a problem. And you guys still haven't told me where to start first . .after I get the engine which I plan to purchase in the next week or two . .what else do I get . . i/h/e . . and then??

PS - What mpg can I expect from my car? And what's the best gas to use? 91? If the guy before me was user cheaper gas . . what do I do? Can I just switch over or . . ? ? ? HELP

Remember guys, I'm a newb and I need help

Dont force me to go to my local shop and buy a 6 inch tip :pface

heres an idea that works. your car will b down for quite a while. why don't you just by another 240 and gol all out on that one b4 you put plates on it?there isn't any way to explain to an auto why driving a manual is better. they'll just have to drive on their self.i/h/e is all opinions to me. i say go with HKS for everything. then again that just me
