S14 problems

i got a few minor poblems with my 96 240, theyre all tings i know are common, but im just wondering if anyone has any advice on fixing these. heres what i got.

1)rattles in the sunroof, when i have it all the way closed but the shade opened, the wind deflector rattles.2)when my tanks almost on empty it will drop all the way down, far below emty when i accelerate, brake, or turn3)shifter bushings are worn out and rattle in 1st, 3rd, and 5th. anybody know the price of these bushings(estimated)4)synchros, mainly just 3rd and 5th. i think maybe 1st too, i have to be going under 10 before i can downshift into 1st, or is that just the way the transmission is? anybody know how much these cost?5)if my windows rolled part way down it shakes real hard if i shut the door, can this just be tightend at the bracket6)rattles in the doors and rear deck from speakers. i dont have anything real big either, just MA audio 6.5 components, they put out good bass, but theres alot of stuff rattling, anybody know how to solve this.

ok, thats all i can think of right now. if anybody can answer any of these i'd appreciate it alot. i know these are all just little things, but i geuss im some kind of perfectioness when it comes to my car, im sure alot of you can relate to that. thanks for any info.

your synchros will do that, everyone who has the transmission does that "usually".

your transmission bushings, couldn't tell you

your sun roof rattling or was it your deflector, if it is your deflector, take it off, lol

your windows, sounds like the motor is maybe going out

your fuel tank is too low sounds like sometimes. the gauge inside the tank is on the side and not totally on the botttom, so when you turn and your gas is real low it won't hit the gauge sometimes. just fill up sooner cause its not good for your fuel pump either when your fuel gets that low

first gear is fine.mine does that too. i can be almost comletely stopped, but it will only let me go in to first somwhere at about 5mph.

yea these are all pretty common problems with the s14. i have rattles all over my car and they drive me crazy. the one in the back is probobly your trunk lid. there is an article about how to fix it in the faqs page.

I have the same problem with the rattling around the gearbox while in gear. Seems to only happen while under hard acceleration though. I'll be taking it into the dealership as soon as the snow melts, so I'll let u know what they say.

As for the window rattling while it's halfway down and slamming the door.....hehe, it's pretty typical of cars that have frameless windows. It looks cool, but makes alot of noise if it's not all the way up or down.

your synchros will get worse if its at that stage right now. thats how mine started out, now it does it all the time in 1, 3, and 5 unless your slowing down by just letting off the gas. when you get the prices let me know so ill know how much im looking at. my dad found a place that will rebiuld my transmission with all new synchros, bushings, and bearings for $800, and that includes parts. someone told me that to replace all the bushings its usually somewhere between $80-140, and i nkow synchros arent real cheap, so that sounds like a pretty good deal to me. i just need to decide if i want to get custom gears or not.
