I'd like to lower my '99 Q45, but I'd rather not dump a whole ton of money on coulovers. I've read on other threads that some of the suspension components are interchangeable with other Nissans, so would it be possible to switch out my current springs for s14 lowering springs? I know it's meant for a lighter car, and I'm not too concerned about comfortability, but if it works I'll take it.

No, use the correct springs. I'm using RS-R's.

Again thanks. I think I going to get these but I have a few questions. Do they ride nice? How easy was installation? And how long was the shipping do you estimate?
Thank you

Yes, these springs ride nice. They're not as comfortable as the OEM active suspension, but it's still a comfortable ride and nowhere near as harsh/stiff as coilovers. I also replaced the shocks and OEM components when I installed the RS-R springs.

Installation was long and difficult compared to installing coilovers; however, the tradeoff is better ride quality on a shock & spring setup.

Shipping was a few weeks. I believe the springs are made to order and then it takes a couple weeks to ship from Japan to the US.

Checkout my recent suspension thread for more information:

If your coilovers are too stiff then your springs have too high of a spring rate. Coilovers can provide just as comfortable of a ride (or ever softer if you prefer) as the stock suspension if the spring rates are chosen properly and the shock valving is appropriate for the vehicle.
