My turn signals only blink fast like when one is burned out or missing but the hazards blink correctly.
I swapped in a v8 and pulled all the engine bay wiring into the cab and connected battery power from in the cab.
The fuse for the turn signal does nothing , turn signal now fused and activated by ignition relay on separate fuse block.
I connect the green/black from the hazard to the green/black from the turn signal switch(same for green/yellow).
I have LED's in front and i read that this could be an issue so I wired in a three painless indicator lamps and a lamp from an autometer gauge
along with the the rear signal to see if that was enough to make it blink slow, nope.

when I connect the grn/blk to the grn/y the signals blink slow like they should.
the hazard fuse on the fuse block in cab is still functional.
i am guessing that my wiring is off. all the signals come on but I am thinking that I wired something wrong that is causing this.

any ideas?
thanks

Did you install a flasher relay for the LEDs? The stock flasher relays - which are the devices that make blinkers "blink" - are designed to blink twice as fast as normal when a bulb is burned out. This is to let the you know that there is a blinker bulb burned out. Unfortunately, most after market blinker products (including Custom LED products) consume so little power compared to the stock bulbs, that the flasher relay thinks that a bulb is out when this is not the case.

thanks
I am trying to understand this, so I had the rear turn signal light and the front LED's and 4 incandescent lights(indicator lamps) in the cab and that is not enough.
I looked up the wattage of the turn signal 13 watts, the turn signal on my PIAA lights are 3 LED's, how many watt resistor do I need
and how many ohms?

other question is do you where the turn signal flasher is? I found the hazard one but had not yet located the turn signal, might be easier to use a no load flasher.

thanks again

bought a no load flasher to solve this.
thanks

yeah it helped,
I actually read on a website that using the load resistors can cause damage to the electrical system and cause fires.
guessing that this is caused by bad implementation like using a load resistor much larger than you should for the application.

I am trying to understand how the load on the flasher works.
lets say the LED's are taking up 1 watt when the original light took 13watts, this means that If add 12 watts to the circuit it would function properly right?
does the extra load have to be in line with the LED (12 watt resistor)or can it be anywhere in the circuit( 12 more 1 watt LED's connected to the voltage source
and get enough load to load the flasher relay)?

I am learning as I go and I like understanding why things work the way they do.
