s13 gauge cluster swap

i have recently swapped a gauge cluster out of a 89 240sx SOHC into my 91 d21 2.4L SOHC. so far the all the idiot lights and gauges besides the speedometer work. the reason the speedo doesn't work is because my truck used a mechanical speedometer and the speedo out of the 240 is electronic. the speed sensor out of the 240 wont work in my truck because its an automatic trans. if i got a speed sensor out of a newer d21 automatic would it even be compatible with my trans ? or even the gauge? or would a manual trans out of a 240 work in a d21? all are possibilities. thanks.

ok here is some pics of what it looks like right now. and if anyone thinks about doing this i can make a little wiring guide for the clips.

these are the LEDS that i wired for the gauge cluster i only have half done so only half the cluster lights up

ive been dying to pull my cluster out and swap it with anything besides mine

im guessing you had to do all kinds of splicing?

yeah. the s13 clips are smaller then the d21. you have to have the s13 clips for that cluster. i had to cut off the old clips off my d21 chassis and solder the s13 clips accordingly. if you do this though make sure you only do one wire at a time. i have Tuesday off work so ill try and make the wiring guide then.

have you done a wiring guide for the 240sx cluster gauge swap to the Nissan hb

The 240 vss should work as long as it is for a manual and same for the truck vss it just needs to be from a manual
