How have people been securing it to the firewall? Its imposable to get a strait shot at it with screw.I used 2 self tapping sheetmetal screws. I'm not sure how much strain they are going to hold. I just dont want them to pop out.

Bolt brace in place. Mark holes where brace bolts to firewall with a sharpie or 90degree pick. Take brace off. drill 3/8 size hole where your marks were. remove cowl. Bolt brace back in place and secure brace to firewall with correct size bolts. Reinstall everything removed

Damb.Thats a little more than I thought.Well I have had the cowl off before. For some reason I thought that, that spot on the firewall was un-reachable,(like was behind dash)I was suprised how chintzy the firewall is. there was a little gap between brace and wall, and the little sheetmetal screw easily pulled the wall to the beefy brace.

Do it the right way. Seriously, Sheet metal screw to bolt the brace the the firewall? You might as well used duct tape. Youre talking about sheet metal screws taking the stress transfered from the strut tower to firewall???? FAIL. Do it the right way

Get in the cowl (where the wiper mechanism is) by removing the metal lower W/S trim and the plastic cowl vent grilles. Mark your holes carefully, drill them out, and use some good-size bolts and nuts with lock washers.

Put some anti-seize on the threads, since the bolts will be exposed to moisture under the cowl vents.
