s13 factory radio turns off 1 second after turned on...

So I just bought the car a few weeks ago and the radio turns off like one second after I turn it on. I'm going to install a JVC unit. I'm hoping it's just the radio but I don't know. Any input....?

Get a multimeter and verify that it's getting both constant and switched 12 volts. As well as obviously a good ground.

I'll do that when I get the factory radio out before I put the aftermarket in. Thanks for the tip...makes sense..
