Car: 1995 300zx non- turbo automatic

Post

Hello my name is Alex, I have a 1995 Z32 automatic non turbo two seater. I'm having one problem with the car and I have no idea what it could be causing it. When I'm driving and I let go of the gas the rpms will drop fast and then go below one. Could anyone tell me what could be causing this? Thank you for your time !:)

Does the action of the Tachometer reflect the action of the car? Hard to tell what's going on from your description.

when I let go of the gas and the rpms drop sometimes it seems as if the car will go down a gear and rev up. It does this atleast twice when I drive. Is this a problem or just something I can shop se to fix if it bothers me ? Thanks

I would first check the ECU codes. And also check the TPS, it appears that the TPS sometimes "wanders" and won't hold correct voltage. When you hook up the multimeter lightly tap the tsp with the wooden end of a hammer or a rubber mallet etc.and see if the voltage moves around. Mine was doing that and was really messing up the auto transmission function. I replaced it and it drove like a new car, for a week, then no 2 fuel injector died. Now once again it runs great. With a car this old you can't let your guard down.
