do rotors need to be changed like brake pads do? well, not as often as pads, i mean.

no, rotors should not have to be changed. sometimes rotors have issues where they become warped in which case you can do two thing, either have them machined which means they shave off a layer of the rotor to make it flat again, or replace them. sometimes they are warped to the point where they have to be replaced. there's been a few instances mentioned on the forums of people having warped rotors early on, myself included. i had my rotors machined within 1 year of having my car, fortunately it was covered under warranty.

some people upgrade their rotors to drilled, slotted, dimpled or a combination of them, they improve braking distance but really unecessary for daily driving.
