Hmmm... What are those?

And I actually like how the Grids in 18's wheel design is subtly different from TE-37 or LE-37's... It signals to me that Rota maybe be moving away from being known primarily are as maker of replica wheels. I think Rarerims hinted at that as well...

Varrstoen.

A bunch of M3 guys use them. I like these way better than Grids. And if you're into hella faking the funk, real Volk center caps fit on these. Only thing different from the real deal is the raised lettering cast on the face.

Hmmm.... Their website is pretty sparse...

http://www.varrstoen.com/

The only sizes I found were 19x9.5+22 and 19x10.5+22. Interesting though...

The sites that we have available to us in the U.S. don't list any thing about these new wheels. Do you know if we can just call the North American distributor and start requesting these sizes as well? Or are they only available in the UK?
Hey we have to figure out how to get these sizes in the US.......what's is really frustrating is nobody carries or advertising these sizes. I looked at the conversion rates for british pounds and a set of 18x10 is $1500 without shipping. Check this out they've been available since 08 in the UKhttp://www.rarerims.co.uk/rare...id=21

Hell, you don't need anything special for that. Those sizes are already available stateside.

$237 per Grid. http://machiii.net/wheels/grid.html

$180 per P45Rhttp://machiii.net/wheels/P45.html

Or you can get the P45R's from Discount Tire or something.

It's the 18x10+15 Grids and the 18x10 P45R that we aren't finding stateside yet. But I bet if you call the North American distributor with cash in hand, you'll get them. Money talks, after all.

Yo simmode, do you know anyone that sells ones w/ 'teen offsets individually?

The sites you listed are nice, but they only carry "max rubber" offsets.

I'll contact them on Monday but I did see 17x9 and they don't advertise a 18x10 in metallic but thanks for the site.

Nah... I don't. That's why I was surprised when Rarerims said these wheels existed. I thought I'd need to ask Rota for a custom offset, but now there's no need. We just need to find out if we can get them from the North American distributor. I would call him, but I'm not ready to buy right now, so I don't wanna waste his time.

I included this email to show you guys that north american distributors either don't know or don't want to do the leg work. I contacted Rota and they directed me to racinglab.com I sent those guys a email and this is what they said.

From: Vincent Lui ([email protected]) Sent: Mon 12/07/09 1:04 PM To: christopher coleman ([email protected])

Rota Grid not available on those sizes. Sorry. --- On Sat, 12/5/09,

I sent these guys a email last week no response yet I guess I need to call these guys. What other Distributor are you talking about. I called Kim at Rota and he said the 17x9 would not be ready for a month and 1/2 but seems to contradict what rarerims is saying. I'm confused

Why are you using Racing Lab? I linked you to the Machiii website. Racing Lab caters to Honda's and chit. Of course they aren't gonna have what you want. Machiii is where the WRX guys got their 18x10+35 Grids.
cole d wrote: I'm confused
Yes, you clearly are. I don't think anyone said Grid was available in 17x9 yet. The link you posted earlier was for a staggered and mismatched set of 17x9+25 P45R's (called GTR's in the UK) and 18x10+35 Grids. Your vague email asked for the wrong info.

Many ppl have gotten their P45R's from Discount Tire as well. Try them if you have one in your area. And screw all this emailing chit. Gotta pick up the phone if you want this chit done right.

Racing lab??? Because if you email Rota North America they will tell you to contact racing lab.

..... Your funny but helpful. Yes my email was vague and I did ask for the wrong size my new request 18x8.5 in a +30 F 18x10 +35 rear. Hopefully somebody will learn from all of this.

simmode1...i request your all knowing rota services...

Im looking at the 4x114 17x9.5 +12 rota p45r's on wheel dude...i plan on getting coil's soon and wanted to know if there were gonna be any possible problems (not planning on slamming as this is gonna be a DD)... I was also having problems deciding what size tire I wanted. There was another post on here from a guy that bought similar wheels but I cant remember the size, but they were meaty. any recommendations? I think his were 255/40 or so...not a big stretched tire type guy either....

running a 95 240 base btw

Well, first off... I'd recommend getting the coilovers first.

But as for the wheels/tires, you're gonna need a roll and a healthy pull with that low offset and that much rubber, depending on how low you decide to go.

I think you are thinking of Skilz...
Skilz10179 wrote:- Rota P45R- Front - 17x9 +25 245/40/17- Rear - 17x9.5 +30 275/40/17- Offsets- Stock brakes for now- Stance GR+Pro Coilovers- Fenders rolled
Even though Skilz is 5 lug, these exact same sizes and offsets are available in 4 lug as well. Choosing these offsets will save you a headache since you won't need to pull your fenders. If you're not going very low, you might not even a roll.

I hope that helps. Let me know if you need anything else.

ive never been able to find rota wheels on discount tire, and wheeldude does them for 850 for a set which i didnt think was too bad...

if it matters any, would a 17x9 be any better? i mean, I dont mind rolling the fenders a bit if i have to, but like i said, I wouldnt run THAT low anyway, gotta get over the speed HUMPS at work. Only other thing to consider is that wheel dude only sells them in a +12 size as well. dunno where I would find them (other than contacting rota/racing lab directly) in a +25 or +30?

I know several NICO members have gotten these from Discount Tire. They don't contract with Rota, so it's not on their website. But they can still order them from Rota for you. And since they buy wholesale in bulk, they often pass the savings on to you.Just call them or go up there and ask. i don't know why ppl are so scared to actually talk to somebody nowadays...

Here is a thread where Dammitboy got his from Discount Tire for $710. I don't like his tire sizes though...zer...age=1

Here's a bunch of s14 9.5 inch setups. Most of these have low offsets, so the tires are stretched and only go up to a small 255.http://www.rimtuck.com/thumbna...r=9.5&

If you copy Skilz's setup above, you can run more rubber. But I don't know why you'd want to if you're still N/A.

MachIII is out of stock on rota grid 18x10/5x114.3 and don't plan on carrying that size again. I called today which sucks for me since I was planning on ordering a set.

Gheeeeey... That was the only place I knew that sold them, besides direct order. Did they say how long have they been out of them?

Not too much of a loss for me. I recently decided to simplify my plans. I'll be keeping my 4 lug set up and run this:

17x9+12 P45R 235/40/1718x9.5+15 Grid 255/35/18

Should be pretty straightforward with a roll and a minor pull (maybe). And that's more than enuff traction for an N/A KA.
