I've been looking at overlays. I know I'm probably going to get some for the head and tail lights but I was wondering if anyone had a roof overlay for a Dark Slate coupe? I'm just wondering how it would look since Dark Slate is sort of a darker car, although not completely black.

I dont think I have seen one installed on a dark slate... I dont sell the roof overlays, but bat does... Im sure you know i sell the head/tail overlays.

Im not sure how it would look on the dark slate, are your windows tinted?

Yeah, 35% on sides, 20% back.

I think it would look a little off... maybe it would be smoother if your rear was darker... im not sure

I'm with LBC, since unless you went completely black with the heads and tails the roof overlay might look a bit off considering your windows aren't completely black.

But who knows, I will try and take a crack at it in PS but my render will not look as good as something mehdi can conjur up.

or u can just wrap the roof with carbon fiber watch its gonna look SIIICCCKKKKK sand roof, prime roof, shape the carbon fiber fabric on roof add the resin 5-7 layers sand the resin smooth and buff... slap on clear coat .... BAM you got yourself a real carbon fiber roof overlay ....

I have been thinking about the same thing for awhile, but I was thinking about lighter gray/ silver color.

Yeah, I had the same thought. Instead of going darker, go lighter, like so;

I'm actually now wondering how a burgundy or maroon top might look. Similar to that GTR SpecV color I've seen.

I was thinking what about a matte black look, similar to the limited edition GTR. Here is a couple quick photoshops. First one with just the roof overlay and the second one with some added side mirror overlays.

I have the roof overlay on my Dark Slate. You can notice it, but it's very subtle. You have to close to it in order to notice. It's also noticeable when it just gets done raining and you see the drops on the roof. I'm in the process of having Bat do a Matte Black look to match the rear diffuser amongst other things he wanted to try.

I have a dark slate as well, tinted. I did not get the overlay because personally I think it'd look bad.

ya i honestly am not feeling any of those photoshops or ideas ... i think the vinyl on the roof of a dark slate is something only a show car would be able to pull off ... it would be VERY flashy if made noticeable (compared to how subtle the black is)

I don't have any pictures that would indicate that there is a gloss overlay on my car. Like I said it's subtle and I only tried it since I have a sponsorship w/ Bat. The matte black would be the one to be a bit more noticeable. I'll post pics when that gets done.
