Just wondering if anyone has cut out these reinforcing panels inside their car, and know what it looks like inside? My cage is supposed to have legs that mount in there but im afraid to cut it with the gas tank there. They are labeled as "frame supports" and dont have mounting plates, so I imagine they tie straight into the frame.

The area in question.:

The legs are the inner ones, that dont have floor plates

Looks like those simply triangulate the door sills to the trans tunnel area. I don't really see what you're wanting to cut, as it looks like those legs should fit behind the seat and attach to the floor just behind the inner rear seat mount bolts.

Not sure why you would have a cage and stock seats, a proper race seat, not one of these ricer recline models will be much thinner than the OE seat and give much more room for the cage.

I have one

Just wanna wait to put it in cuz welding spatter and all.

Also I guess you cant see in the pic, but the area behind the trans tunnel, would need to be either significantly hammered, or cut to gain access to where those legs should mount, its a straight line from the main hoop, and the main hoop was dictated by where the floor plates would sit, which is where it is now. If that makes sense?

If this helps, its an idea of where the bar should go approx. The dotted line is just for reference about where a straight line between the main hoop bases would be.

I know that is just an outer skin and the gas tank is underneath somewhere but im just trying to get a better idea of where the underlying "floor" is,

Ya the legs did reach to the tunnel, they arent QUITE in line with the main hoop but there just wasnt any room behind there, the tank is about 1/4" inside that skin. I plated the tunnel a little for more strength
