I bought a 1990 300ZX TT awhile back. I had a cop stop me in a parking lot to let me know that my reverse lights didn't work. I contacted the owner before me he said they hadn't worked in a long time. I cant find a fuse for them. Does anyone know where this is located? I checked the #19 fuse inside the car which some one had mentioned, but it was fine and is not labeled as reverse light. I have also seen to check the sensor on the Transmission, Is it on the right side up next to the engine or further back next to the drive shaft? I guess I should say is it easy to find? Thank you in advance for your time and trouble.

Is it a Manual or auto?

Manual, is back by the passenger side of the trans, near the 1/4 rear section of the trans, there should be two one is the neutral switch and the other is the reverse lights. They are a PITA to remove with the trans in the car, borderline impossible.

Auto, it is in the combo switch I think by the shifter.

It is a manual transmission so maybe I will get luck and be the combo switch. Do you know how I can test to see which it is? If the wires are broken then I can tell but other wise I don't know if there is a regular current or anything?
Thank you for your time and look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes,
Jim

I think you misunderstood, only automatics have that combo switch, there is an actual name for it but I cannot think of it for the life of me right now.

Manuals do not have this, only the two switch it the trans. and usually the wires break, crack, just plain seperate from the switch. You can test for current if they good and broken. There is a black boot covering the back side of the switch, just be gentle when removing them. Just for dumb luck, have you check the bulbs?
