ok sooo i have a 240 and my gf has a 97 max, and well, i dont trespass into other forums unless i have to but this is just to share 2 12 hour days of hard work lol.

this is just my gf playing with the camera as im takin the front of the car apart, now she used to live in mass. and well im guessing from all the salt her support was well, just all dust, youll se what i mean later

ok so i have a lil chunk but she likes it lolahhhh now you see why im replacing it, totally not safe

rad and front end just chilling, along with my snap on cart, god i love that thing

lol my gfs great with the camera isnt she?

front end all ripped apart

then this is how she sat all night since i really couldnt see anything. after buring up a ton of drill bits and then figuring out its fast to drill several hole starting small then going big, most of the spot welds are out and boy there was a ton of them

YOU KNOW YOU LOVE MY BFH!and heres a closer shot of the danger zone

so after awhile of more hammering prying and drilling i get this

then the new rad support goes on

then my mom came home on her lunch break and gave me an upgrade for my work space sayin its gunna storm, which i didnt think since there wasnt a cloud in the sky but i thought what the hell ill get out of the blistering sun for awhile so i put it up.you can also see my baby in these pics, more on her later

after bolting up the bottom and the cross member

soooooo my mom was right and it came down in sheets, and sideways sooo i had to put some sheet up so id stop getting soaked

heres my home made night lights for if it got dark, i had them on my old truck and they wer just sitting around and i had no use till now

some more pics of my storm shelter

then it was reassembly time after i got the rad support screwed and welded back on

then i had to fix her bumper from cracking even more, sad thing is she bought the car like this, but hey now its JDM TIGHT YO! j/k

i finally finished it but found my camera was dead so i didnt get any end pics. but that was my last 2 days of hell

and oh about my 240, i had a bad vacuum leak so i took the mani off to figure it out, wellll almost every line had to be replaced and i figured ill take my secondary butterflys out since i got it out, now im just waiting on gaskets and stuff like that

I live in Mass, with an I30 around the same year and my radiator support looks exactly the same, its something I'm going to need to do soon and I'm not looking forward to all this work. Nice job, these pictures are going to help

lol well pandapants im glad you like it lol and numbnuts240 i loff them they are so comfy lol

and at first i didnt post this here cuz well i dont have a max i was just showin off some work and it wasnt really a write up, but i guess whoever needs to do this can use it as a guide, i mean if i was gunna do a write up on this id have a ton more pics for step by step and id mark all the spot welds in pics too, but advice for whoever does do this, theres 2 spot welds that you cant really get to in the frame rails, 2 on each side i just kinda got all of them then hit it with my bfh till it came off lol ill get a pic of the old support to show off the rust and well the destruction of gettig it off lol

I used a mechanic down in SE MA to replace the lower rad. support on my 95 SE last year. Best $400 I ever spent.
