You might have a hard time getting someone that you dont know to rent a luxury car to you for one weekend night knowing that it is Prom season. That said, someone that you DO know, that might be a different story. My older brother used a family friend's Lexus and I drove my uncle's Audi.

Assuming that your parents' friends see you as one of the more responsible teenagers, you might have better luck making a deal with one of them to use their car. My bro did some yard work and I did a full detail with wax and leather conditioning (which had been severely neglected) Plus, in my opinion, the fact that people trust you with their nice things is more impressive than renting a nice car.

In all honesty, from one man to another, you might love the idea of renting a sports car (I know I would), but I believe your girlfriend might like the idea of the chauffeured limo better. There is also a safety aspect to this as well; the chances of you crashing and killing the both of you in a sports car that you are not familiar with (and want to impress your girlfriend with) are statistically high. Play it safe, kid, and go with the limo. Save the sports car for your honeymoon! (and make it a 350Z while you're at it).

Unless you're 25 or older, nobody will rent to a 16-24 year old. Well, maybe a tandem bike.

You still have to be listed as a registered driver on the rental and they won't let you do that if you're under their age limit. If you do it anyways and get stopped for some reason it's going to ruin your date for sure.

Besides, you could have a lot more fun with a willing girl if you're not busy driving. And while a limo will help you impress her, being a nice, sweet, caring guy you'll do better anyways. Take your time, have fun, don't push things and you'll do well.

I'd personally take the versa, just make sure it's spotless inside and out first and you'll be doing good.

I talked about this with my wife, and we can't remember what we took to her prom - either my Mom's Chevette or my Dad's Mercury. We only remember the prom. So I'm with Matt - take the Versa and buy her something special with the money you save.

Quit lying to him. 18 year old girls may SAY they like nice, but they really want a-holes. Women don't actually like "nice" men until they're about, oh, 20 or so. Being nice to a girl will just get you sent to the "friend zone".

And did you learn your lesson from that?
KimberKenobi wrote:Just make sure you can find the "stuff" afterward...
See? Kimber even learned from kcourtad.

Ok, I'm done.

Johni - Just be glad you have a nice, new car at your disposal. If I had wanted to go to sr. prom (which I didn't, I hated just about everyone at my school, and the girl I wanted to date was already dating someone), my choices would have been an '82 Subaru wagon or a '92 Pontiac Grand Prix. and sadly, the Subaru was in better shape.

Ironic since that's what the TIIDA is and why this entry car is so nice... (cheaper to use the same mold than to create new interior for the US market where such a small car could never be seen as a 'luxury' model to compete price-wise)

Just so you know, the others that have spoken on the subject of renting are right. NO agency will rent you a sports car until you're 25. You can't even be put on as a co-renter, and you'd be in deep crap if you drove it anyway. (heck, in my state, you can't even rent an Aveo until you're 21, and most agencies still won't rent them to you until you're 25 anyway)

If you got pulled over, you'd be treated as a car thief.

If you got in an accident, you wouldn't be insured, and your mom would be responsible for paying for the WHOLE car out of pocket. Guess whose arse THAT would come out of. That's right, YOURS.

So ask yourself: Can you afford to pay for an entire brand new Corvette for just one night's fun? If the answer is no, bury the thought.

It's not worth risking. I'll agree with others that if the V isn't up to your standards for prom, rent a limo. Besides, that's more time to spend with your date and less time worrying about others on the road, or even potentially drunk, moronic classmates.

Yep, if it got wrecked they'd just tow it to your mothers house and dump it in the front yard because it would be hers, forever. that's unless you think you could avoid the man when he talks to you about insurance fraud when your mom makes a claim for that torn up front end. Here ya go, this'll get your testosterone going. http://www.google.com/imgres?i...&cd=2

Here is a funny (and true) story about my senior prom (I didn't go, bur heard all about it later). I grew up in a rural "yuppie" town, and as such, had to deal with several wealthy bratty kids while in school. There was one guy who was the wealthiest of them all... his father owned several large companies, and as such, spoiled his son to the max. For his 16th birthday, his dad bought him a brand-new 2001 Chevy Avalanche (LOADED). Anyway, as a rich snob, he had the best-looking girlfriend and the attitude to go with it. Fast forward to the junior prom; his father owned a mid-1960s Jaguar that just came back from England from a total factory restoration. This car was beautiful. He let his son use the car to take his girl to the prom, no surprises there. The funny part? the car burst into flames on the way to the prom, and everyone got to see this yuppie kid and his knockout girlfriend stranded on the side of the road with a roasted Jaguar. It was funny because nobody was hurt, and this kid was a TOTAL @$$h0LE to anyone below his social status. Turns out, a transmission line broke.

Go to a dealership, give them your license, and get your hands on a GT-R for a test drive, and drive off with your prom.

I dont know there but in orlando the best place to find a corvette to rent in high season is the airport! they always have and the last prive i heard was 450 a day for the convertible one! not bad. considering a lamborgini is 1600 lol

If I wanted to enjoy the girl, get a limmooo..! and a room in a 5 star! advice, do not ever rent a studio, go from 1bedroom

(i work for one)
