Its based off the Renault/Dacia Logan. The Nissan Versa is based of the Nissan Tiida in japan and also has the same engine as the Renault Clio III.

It defnitely shares most of the styling cues with the Versa/Tiida. It looks a little fresher and more rounded than the Versa. I kind of like it a little better.

I saw one like that last week, same color.. It's FUGLY! And in the pictures seems to be big, but it's too small compared to Versa. BTW it's a very poor car, for development countries.

This car uses the "B0" Renault-Nissan platform, the same of the dacia/renault logan in europe also used in Nissan Note, Nissan Micra and Renault Clio III (launched in 2004).

The Versa/Tiida uses a lengthened B0 platform.

"The Renault Sandero has been co-developed by the Brazilian RTA (Renault Technologies Americas) since 2005 and the early prototypes were built and tested in Brazil. With all the Brazilian expertise on flex-fuel engines, Renault developed a flex-fuel version of the 1.6 litre 8V engine which complements the engine range (1.0 litre 16V and 1.6 litre 16V)."

- Look the engines. 1.0 Liter. crap.

BTW, the sedan version of the Sandero (logan) is sold in Mexico as Nissan Aprio

Doesn't look that similar to me. No more similar than any other compact econohatch anyway.

It looks much smaller and lower-slung than the Versa. More compact.

Definitely looks cheaper than the Versa. Look at the rubber moulding on the bottoms of the doors.

This thing confused me the other day when I came up on it from behind. From a far distance the rear area looked Versa like. Was just interesting, hadn't heard they had made it.
