so i picked this motor up a few months ago. its a 1991 sr20det with hks headers and a garret t28. it runs and drives awesome other than one issue. the T in my valve cover pukes up sooo much oil. to try and prevent this i tried to re route the lines coming from the T to blocking off the intake side of the T sending the block side to a catch can with a drain on the bottom to the block, a vent on the top, and an inlet on the top that goes to another catch can and into my intake. it works great other than the fact that the 2nd catch can fills up pretty damn quick and the vent on the top of the first catch can spits oil out onto my header and turbo elbow. everyone is telling me its the rings but the thing has no issues other than the oil. it runs and drives fine and has lots of power..... :wtf2: does anyone have any suggestions?? im gunna be pretty pissed to have to pull the thing and rebuild it after a month of having it in but if thats what needs to be done i guess i dont have many more options.

start with a compression test, and move on to a leakdown test. if you have that much blow-by it should impact your compression.

Can you feel air coming out of that t at an idle? If so than its rings for sure. There should be a slight vacuum on the crankcase from you're pcv. I fried my rings and the crank case would actually build pressure If you put you're thumb over it. After building the motor I now have a pretty healthy vacuum on the crank case. if there isn't any pressure build up in the crank case during idle I would do a boost leak test and pay close attention to noise in the top of the valve cover. Pcv valve could be leaking under boost or valve guides/seals could be leaking under boost (usually this would also cause smoke out of the tail pipe after sitting for a while and restarting)

when at idle if i take the oil cap of the valve cover it blows air out of it. would that mean my rings?

Id have to say yes. You can do a leak down to confirm it but sounds like rings to me hands down.
