I was clearing the snow off the back of my new versa(three weeks) and the blade of the wiper fell out. Now I look at it and it appears to just sit in the hooks. If you pull the arm away from the window it falls out. My question is: Is this the way it is supposed to be, or did something break?

When I looked in the book it just says that to replace the rear wiper blade, contact your nissan dealer.

Before I go off the handle at the dealer I was wondering if you all could check your rear wiper blades and see if yours are attached the same way.

Thanks

something broke. One of the boxy ends of the wiper broke off. to replace you have to order the complete wiper assembly and the cost is $52.50 for the wiper assembly. And is only available through you dealer.

Yep,they're all built this way nowJust go to Wally World and buy a complete blade and holder for $3.79. In 5 minutes or less you've performed brain surgery. Only minus is that Wally has no free coffee, the plus is that they don't expect you to bend over on the way out like at your friend, the dealer. You just feel dirty the whole time you're in the store though. Another plus, just throw your trash from your purchase in the lot with all the other trash

Wally World doesn't sell the rear wiper for the 07-08 Versa's.

Sorry, should have said wiper blade. You get two of them for 3.79 and they are held in by metal hook deals. These will work better than the present set up that floats too much causing the blade to fall out of the hooks. You might have to break off one of the tabs on the end of the holder. Get the new blades with the metal strip.

Walmart doesn't even sell a set of FRONT blades that will fit CORRECTLY. You need a 14" and a 26" if i recall... two of the most difficult sizes to find.

My Wally carries the 26". They even have my Caravan's 28". In a pinch you could cut the plastic 16" down 2" or if it has a metal edge w/some sharp aviation snips. Don't ask me how i know this. Haven't seen 14"s though. It's not a bad idea to keep a spare set tucked above your spare tire for when they break in the middle of nowhere or snowstorm

Well that just sucks. I wonder if it ever was in correctly. I mean I didn't see any pieces fall, it just fell out when I pulled it away from the window. I'm thinking I need to get the dealer to fix this.

Thanks for the replies.

Wally World does have free coffee. It's back in the oil change waiting room although I wouldn't recommend it.

The funny thing is I took my V to Sears to get my oil changed a month ago and they said they couldn't do it because they didn't have any info on it. I was surprised since this car has been out for over 2 years now.

The stock blade doesn't have anything holding it in besisides the ends of the holder. The aftermarket blades(metal Anco etc.) are held in by a squeezed clamp, in fact you break off the end of the blade holder on the OEM to slide the aftermarket one in.Might sound complicated but once you've done it the next time is easy. You could slide the blade that fell out back in yourself or if you really wanted to take it to the dealer. If they charged you I'd be shocked.

Now that I think of it I took my other car to Wally a couple of months ago and they had coffe. Must be going upscale. I wouldn't take anything to Sear's. Their ship is sinking fast
