rear rattle

sounds like a squeaky mouse in the back when i go over bumps.. im not sure if its the rear seats.. but ive tried folding them down /up.. problem still there...any common rattle fix for the 99 pathfinder ? thanks

are you roof cross bars tight? your rear hatch spoiler tight? hatch close secure or is it loose when closed,try adjusting the striker at the bottom of the hatch opening. are you sure the noise is inside? could be quarter panel trim fit to the body. can you recreate the noise by pushing in or down on the interior trim back there?

Try this list of checks and see if you find anything.

i just checked the roof cross bars.. they were lose , i tighten em.. i also check the hatch and it seems to be closing fine.. however, when i push against the glass from the outside, it goes in a bit.. does that mean its lose ? thanks

there will be some movement in the glass and hatch but it should feel stiff not free floating. after tightening the crossbars is the noise still present?

yes the squeeky noise still there... i am thinkin it might be the hatch or the glass.. at least thats what my gf said when i made her seat in the rear seats.. any quick fix to this.. or is there a recall somewhere for it.. thanks

there is a recall for the hatch shock mounts but not sure if it applies to your vehicle since it was pro date specific.it wasent for a squeek though. you can have the dealer run your vin in DCS and they can tell you if it applies. try placing a piece of card board between you glass and the seal then close it completely see if it stops the squeek.

i called nissan na and they said i dont qualify for the recall

had friends sit in the baCK AND THEY SAID IT WAS DEFINITELY COMIN FROM THE Shock MOUNTS ON THE HATCH.. SORRY FOR THE CAPS TYPIN WITH 1 HAND.. BROKE THE OTHER SNOWBOARDING

I will have to try that... my '01 is doing the same thing. It has been happening for the past year and has progressively become worse. I took my roof rack off... so I know it's not that.
