rear mount turbo vh45de question?

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Hello Nico,
I had a question on boosting my vh45de z32.
I want to do a rear mount setup as there is no room under the hood. Should I do a single or twin? If either what size turbos would you suggest?
I tried doing research but couldn't find much of anything on it.

Thanks to who responds.

Here are the biggest issues when running rear mount turbos.

How much will the exhaust velocity slow down, that will effect spool time.

Mounting the turbos all the way in the back will also a pain for piping, better have room for more pipe running to the front. You will also need some kind of bracket to hold the turbo(s) sense the exhaust piping wont be strong enough.

then the oiling system needs to be figured out.

Finally you will need to think about how much power, and what kind of driving you will do with the car. There are plenty of videos on youtube with boosted vh45's so that might give you some idea.

Yea I thought about all of that so that is why if I do it I would use a not so big turbo. All the videos on youtube are vh's in 240sx that are boosted.
I brought my car to powerfab and they can do the work but I want to give them the parts. Thats why I wanted to know what size turbo from someone who has a maybe done a rear mount on a vh
