Rear Lift Gate Button Not Working

Hi all. The button/switch to the left of the steering wheel does not operate the rear lift gate. The gate operates normally with either the key fob or with the switch on the gate. Any ideas where to start looking?

Pop the connector loose and check pin 1 with a voltmeter, it will be Beige on US/Japan cars or Gray on Korea cars. It should be battery voltage, if not you may have a wiring problem (possibly water intrusion) in the driver's side kick panel. If it does have battery voltage, try jumping it to ground and see if the hatch operates. If so, the button is shot.

PS - You can tell from the first character of your VIN where the car was made, K=Korea, J=Japan, 1= or 5=USA.
