My rear differential seems to have a slight whine to it. What is the recommended interval to change the rear differential lube for a street driven Path? Also, are any brands better than others?

TIA

The manual that I use says both front and rear should be done every 60,000 miles. Just did mine last week. Used the store brand "Coastal" 80W90 from Autozone they did not have enough synth. I plan on doing it more frequently than every 60k so using store brand should be fine for now. Very easy job, if you can change your oil you can do this! Only difficulty is getting the lube back in. I just watched some videos on Youtube and it was enough to do it with confidence.

Hope this helps.

Check out this thread for fluid suggestions: What Fluids Do you Use? And this one for what not to do: I Stripped My Rear Diff Fill Plug

I used Royal Purple 75w90 in mine a few weeks ago.
