Finally got my Lic plate renewal, sec of state here is such a joke, they let 4 people in the building at a time, anyway, did an oil change, put the hood struts on, I went to cars and coffee on Woodward yesterday morn, something felt wrong, I thought maybe it was just older gas, it was the pass rear caliper hanging up, it was super hot when I got home, I put a fan on it till it cooled, removed both rear calipers, I think a auto parts store here can send them out, I did the fronts, should have done all 4. I’m debating on just getting new ones or having the OG’s rebuilt. I painted all 4 red years ago, I may go yellow this time. Time to polish the chrome wheels, all this work, lol
Looking at the rear hoses, I’m afraid to try to replace them, the steel lines look good, but it may not come apart.

Took them in the shop, got the calipers ready to go in, cleaned up the rest of the parts and painted them.

Dropped off the calipers today to be rebuilt. Looking at them, it almost looks like a Mitsubishi logo on them.

Mitsubishi makes all sorts of parts that are used by other manufacturers - I've found Mitsu branded parts on Mazdas, Kias, Hyundais, & Nissans.

Kia licensed Mitsubishi's 6G75 3.5 DOHC V6 for use in the '02-'06 Sorento, Hyundai still builds a licensed version of the Montero called the Galloper for some world markets, and back in the 80's Porsche licensed the balance shaft technology that Mitsu used in it's G54B 2.6 4 cylinder to use in it's own big 4 cylinder engines. Despite Mitsu's failure to market any decent vehicles here in the US, and prior to their acquisition by Nissan/Renault, they were a significant design, engineering & manufacturing company.

Now that I think about it, I set up The Mitsubishi booth at the SAE show in Detroit one year, they had a lot of parts including turbos,
Here’s the schematic for the 95 rear bake set up if anyone needs it.

I was going to go to yellow, but I’m not re painting the fronts, I had the fronts re-built like 20 years ago, I should have done all 4. Big mistake.

I was putting it all back together last night, then the bolts wouldn’t go in the calipers. Both sides, I scratchet my head for a half hour, then I ran a metric tap in the caliper, a little brake grease must have been in there, the media they b,asked it with went i. The threads, chased the threads, now I’m good. Pays having a metric tap/die set laying around.

There are plenty of online Infiniti parts sources you could order from. Google the part number to find out who's got it and what the prices are.

I had the Q delivered to the Brake shop, I got the call, back 2 lines and the one along the frame rail to the front, replacing them.
I didn’t mention I see a drop of trans fluid on the floor for the last 5-6 years, it may be the real, seal, but I think it may be where the speodo cable goes in. Anyone else has a trans leak towards the rear of the trans, it’s just a very small seep. Anyway, looks like I’ll be driving the Q again by Monday. No cars and coffee for me tomorrow, well, I’ll take the TA. Lol

I had a set of black 95 floor mats up for sale, doesn’t seem like any interest, so I took my orig tan out and I put the drivers black one in when it goes in for repair those guys have dirty shoes. Lol
I remember the early Q’s coming with 2 sets of mats, one light, one dark.

The 1990 Q I purchased a few months ago has the off-white interior and came with the black mats installed and the off-white mats in the original plastic bag in the trunk.

+1
I dunno what else you drive, but at 27.3 and 25.9 years old, I generally smile when I'm behind the wheel of my G50s.
Oh, sure most have been left for dead by now, but for the few preserved survivors that remain, there are a lot of cars with fewer miles and many fewer years that simply don't have the panache of the G50.

I still have my orig set of tan mats. Maybe I should keep the black set.
I saw a Q in Boston w/ a white interior when I was looking to buy one. Lol pretty, it I’d never keep it clean.

I thought I posted a pic of the finished job, must be in another thread. I painted the center of the rotors like 20 years ago, it’s still holding up pretty good. I was going to re do all 4, but I prob wouldn’t have driven it at all this year, it was so late.

The reason why my 93 became a chop up Q was both front calipers went. All 396k miles... needed a bunch of other stuff as well. Broke my heart not letting that one hit 400k but it needed too much. Honestly the reman calipers are the only non oem part I would suggest. I recall using "Mitsubishi" labeled calipers a long time ago honestly

After all that, I dove the car like 3 times. At least I’m all set for next year. Last year at this time I had a whole list to do.
