Who has the highest mileage now?? Still about 65000 miles on my 07 3.5, no issues. I don't drive much...

118,000 before mine died. My brother is a BMW tech. He searched a bunch of technical bulletins and that seems to be the precise mileage for total failure. I just dropped in a used cvt with unknown mileage. I got the obd2 dongle and I'm shopping for an external cooler. Hopefully I can get a few more years out of her :)

Precise mileage?? Non sense. Did you change your fluid?

Yeah while looking through the bulletins that he has access to, there were 6 total failures out of 10 at 118k. I thought it was wierd too.

Yes I changed my fluid at 65k then had p1778 at 118k...replaced the stepper motor to no avail.

Mine has had very slight issues with jerking and shuddering at higher speeds but since I did the torque rod service and TCM reflash, it seems to have killed about 50% of the jerking sensation/hesitation. I also got the transmission oil cooler from nissan installed on it and it has eliminated the whining noise that started around 120k. I have 142k right now and it's smooth for the most part but it does hiccup sometimes.

My wife 07 Murano was sold with over 200k a few years ago and the college kid who bought it is closing in on 300k. I didn’t service it until 80k, used red castrol cvt fluid. I did several short intervals after that. My 09 Altima failed at 95k and was under factory extended warranty.. you better believe I change the cvt fluid religiously, usaually every 20k, lesson learned. Just simple drain and fills using idemitsu, eneos or valvoline. The dealer where we bought my wife’s 2018 rogue offered $2500 towards any out of warranty cvt failure if we brought it in for service every 30k so I jumped on board.

Smart dealer! I dearly wish Nissan offered that sort of encouragement as a corporate policy.

Assuming they don’t jack up the repair cost or that dealer doesn’t sell out. Either way new fluids cheap insurance in all transmissions. Heck I had a Chevy impala and f250 give out before my 09 Altima cvt. Unlike Nissan my Chevy and Ford had no extended warranty.
