car looks like it will be sick when its done. FYI, go to enjukuracing.com and pick up the isis power steering line, its like 100 bucks, but it makes the install with the hicas pump much easier. the crank collar on mine was easy, but i did a full build, dont worry about it unless you are planning to really beat on the car, its something to just give a visual check though, just to make sure your oil pump isnt wearing out. The downpipe fitment with stock twins sucks, i scapped that idea and went single turbo, check for top mounts, those are f***ing sick. if any front end choice looks great on the verts, it would have to be s15!!!!

sorry forgot to mention, you can take the hicas pump apart, and isolate which one you want to use. just remove the impellers and call it a day. Just be careful with pulling it apart, its a metal gasket between each layer, so dont bend it.

Thanks. I figured it'd be easyier not to use the rb P/S pump so I picked up a RB25 pump instead. So no issues there.

Impressive. Nicer wheels are a must down the road though. Killer build either way, and you haven't even really started. Nicely done.

Here are some updates on the project

Oil pan needed cutting and weldingI had a friend at work weld it up.

I also sandblasted the rocker covers and repainted them with high heat gloss black paint. Heres pics of what they'll look like on the motor.

I will post more pictures in a few days, they will be mounting the motor in for its final resting place.

I wish I had some better pictures but it was dark where the car was.

The engine is fully mounted in and it fits way better than I thought it would. The valve covers are back mounted on, and the radiator is in but I'm almost positive that will be in and out with the crank pulley not being hereyet.

The oil pan fab job you did... I've read that the RB26 stock pan will not fit into a s13. Is this why the modification? I have also read that the RB25 pan will work? But nothing to confirm any of this yet. I'm putting together a RB26 build, just trying to get all my research done. Sweet looking vert! That thing is gonna be sweet dude. Can't wait to start mine.

Sounds like you're reading correctly.

ALSO, to Original Poster:
Why get the HKS turbo Timer? Why not look into a Viper Remote Start / Keyless Entry / Security System that has a built in turbo timer? (Viper 5701 or 5901 for the LCD Key Fob...) Kill two birds with one stone, because I can guarantee you will want at least an alarm on this car.

So I can avoid doing this kind of modification by buying a rb25 oem oil pan? I just want to make sure i'm reading right  Thanks in advanced

nice welding work on the oil pan...but you've decreased the capacity seriously...rb engines already have oil issues and now its exasterbated.

The RB26 pan was a pain to modify but it had to be done the rb25 should work but it need extra holes in the rear of the pan
the mate up. Not sure what else needed to be done to it but I myself Needed the RB26 because of the Sway bar. Normal
sway bar is 25mm, average aftermarket is 28mm, Mine is 30.5mm tanabe and my mounts are SYKO not Mckinney and It mounts slightly differently.

Oiling issues are the Crank collar at high RPMs early 93 and before, after mid 93 this was fixed. and I am running a
side mounted oil cooler.
Not to mention this isn't every going to be a full track car its a sleeper convertible for now and jaw dropper.

I have some updated pictures that I will post later tonight.

Thanks everyone for all the interest

Here are some pictures and updates

Here's the Downpipe issue that is being worked out right now I edited the picture to explain but
basiclly the o2 elbow on the front turbo comes out in the middle of the steering shaft (common issue
from what I hear)

Image

Image

Image

Image

Crashed my Crappy Civic I built from back in the army days.
Image

Brand new from Japan, rb25 (non-Neo) Crank pulley
Down side was that it was a 4-8 week wait
Up side New stock part for $100
Image

Image

Last Picture is of the motor, I'll have more pics thursday
Image

Also picked up 88 300zx BMC
Brembo OE S14 Rotors for the S14 Rear brake conversion
Nismo Short shifter for RB25

JUST A WORD OF CAUTION
CHECK YOUR ECU
make sure the part number matches the motor, someone on here pointed out that my motor
wasn't a R33. (yeah that was my bad)
BUT the ECU that was sent with the engine was a R33 N1 ECU (2371M-24U00) as you can see my motor isn't an N1
if it was I'd be doing a happy little dance in my living room :woot: ha ha ha
SO I researched the best guess ECu for my motor and went with a 23710-05U61 early 93 round-a-bouts
and is being sent to AutoVaughn Performance in Murfreesboro, TN for a NIStune Type-2 package (board install,
cable, software etc..) As soon as I get that in I'll let everyone know how it is. They also told me they have a R33 block,
Crank, etc all togeather not stripped yet that they are looking to get rid of. He's sending me pictures and I'll be putting it in the forum if it's a good enough deal I may grab it.

P.S. to a previous post I have a Viper 350 already waiting to go in and brand new top, headliner, rear window and cables
after everything else is set and the car is moving.

Thanks again guys for all the comments and support need any help or info let me know

like the sleeper idea :bigthumb:

can a custom exh piece be made for the rack prob? either way you need to shield that rack from the heat somehow,or it might cook it and premiturely fail.

Just got my new tires put on, the 225/55 16 that were on the GTR wheels rubbed because they are
8in's wide and the very corner of the tire hit the back towards the door,so I threw on some Maxxis V-1 225/45 16
and they work really well. Not to mention they look wicked nice on the car.
