Just love being outside the box!!! This will be my first build that wasnt all bolt-on or somewhat easy. This truck has done great for me, hell only paid $500 for it back in 2010, fabbed 4" drop blocks for the rear, and turned the torsion bar all the way out in the front, and it has a Weber 38carb, with a 10PSI fuel xfer pump from an International ProStar for a fuel pump and after all this time finally put new tires on it, Something about the 8plug system that bugging me. Dont get me wrong its still a whole lot of fun to drive. But, for the amount of time and money I would put into the motor and transmission to get 200+ HP out of it. Found a decent RB20DET, wanna put in my 720!! I'm not worried about the fab work thats needed, its obvious theres not enuff room, so Im gonna make room, hell my floor has holes in it anyway, makes sense just to do this, to me anyway. So, any thoughts on where I can get a gauge cluster that will work with this engine?, do I really need to upgrade my fuel pump?, what would be an Ideal rearend for this application...

carb'd 720 have no baffling in the gas tank.

So switching to an EFI tank (late model 720s had efi) would be a good Idea.

For gauges I would just say make your own set up, but I am guessing an R32 or 240 cluster could with talent fit in a 720, or you could just try to splice what little body harness you have into the ecu and try and just replace the tach for DOHC.

I really want to see an RB just sitting in a 720 just to see how crammed in it is.

Fuel pump upgrade definitely...Fuel cell or bed mounted tank of some sort? might be an Idea later down the road, if at all neccessary.

You might also relocated battery, also not sure if necessary, especially with the stock intake keeping it to the drivers side.

Relocate the battery for sure.... and anything else you feel comfortable moving out of the engine bay besides the engine!

You will need to cut the fire wall for it to fit. No problems with the turbo though. Drive shaft will have to change also. I cut my tank and installed the complete pump from a sentra N16. As for the gauges I installed the dash (the complete dash) from a B 12 sentra. The tach is no good as its set up for four cylinders. Have fun. Will post a pic of the tank tomorrow.
