I have a rb26dett that I want to install A/C. I'm assuming the compressor fittings should be identical to that of the rb25 a/c compressor but how about the placement? DOes my a/c compressor sit close or further than that of a rb25? That might affect my usage of the a/c kit if the lines were specifically made for rb25s. Any thoughts?

I'm trying to use fittings and line that will allow me to customize the "kit" to a high degree. If it is something really weird and I need to add extra fittings or hose in, then it will cost a little more.

I'm not sure about the RB26 being the same as the RB25, but if they are different, you send me the hose ends, I can have them measured, drawn into CAD and cut on the CNC mill for the same price.

The adapter fittings are being fabbed up soon. I should be able to throw something together by the end of April at the latest. I will keep you guys posted as things progress over the next week or two.

Update on the A/C fittings. I have a prototype set run and they all fit perfectly. I am ordering hose, hose ends, and o-rings for them today and will hopefully have a reproduceable kit for the RB25 in S14 in early May.

I'm not sure about the S13 yet since I don't have a guinea pig car. I'll get the bugs worked out on the S14 kit first and see what needs to be changed for the S13.

Yes I still have to make custom lines, but the blocks with the thread on them allow me to use standard hose ends to attach to them instead of trying to find old RB25 hose ends. Feel me? Plus, these will look nice

managed to get ahold of lines for real cheap, so I wont be buying the kit anymore, at least not right now(sorry Darius).

BUT can someone RE-post the diagrams/drawings again, they aren't showing up anymore and i forgot to save them.

im doing 95 s14 with S2rb25

BLUEFIRE posted the following, but i like visuals while im working too: Chassis Harness Side -------- Engine Harness Side

1. A/C switch(thermo control amp) ---------> ECU A/C input2. A/C relay ground <--------- ECU A/C output3. A/C relay Power ----------> FICD Solenoid

No problem man. Once people get ahold of these lines, the word will spread and more people will come out of the woodwork.

I have to order a custom fitting from the hose end manufacturer to make things more convenient while vacuuming/charging the system. I could have put the suction port under the car but that would have...well...sucked.

They told me that I'm out 3 weeks on their schedule for the hose ends. And I'm currently 2 weeks out on the adapter blocks. The project schedule went from the beginning of April to the middle of May, but it is really starting to come together now.

The basic kit without passenger side lines or drier or switch will be $160 + SH. The complete line kit with new drier and pressure switch will be $250 + SH. So far this kit is only fitted to work with the RB25 compressor and S14 condenser. S13 guys will have to wait or buy a set and how well they line up.

so if i have a rb20det in a s13, and i have a rb20det compressor, and besides "custom" lines. what else do i need to acquire for my mechanic to make it work. my car came factory with a/c and some hillbilly mechanic put the swap in. Lets just say my mechanic has had to fix a fried e.c.u., rewire the harness, remount the battery ( was sitting behind the pass seat), put in a cross member, rack and pinion. the last thing i want is a/c. anymore input on this would be awesome!

I would need to get a hold of the RB20 compressor hose ends to have the adapter blocks made up to match them. They are completely different from the RB25. Like I said, I don't know how the fitment will be in the S13 vs. the S14 because I am not sure where the condenser ends are or if they share the same hose end.

If anybody knows that, please chime in.

300Plus wrote:If you check the back of the F4 plug (the car side) there are two wires you need...

AC Cabin switch - Yellow w/ black stripe

Wire to the Triple pressure switch - Black w/ pink stripe

And on the M63 side of the plug (the ecu side) you need one wire

The wire to pin 46 on the ECU - Pink

now here is the way I did...

Pull all 3 wires out of the M63 or F4 plug... They will all 3 need to be connected together.

I used a spade connector and on one side of the connector put the yellow/black wire and the black/pink wire together, and then on the other side of the connector I put the Pink wire.

its pretty simple setup. basically the KA ecu had a bunch of complicated wiring to the ecu for the AC, and the RB was much simpler.

The yellow/black wire is a switched ground. when you push the AC button no the climate controls in, the wire becomes grounded. The Black/pink wire is the ground side of the AC relay (the coil side) which first goes through the triple pressure switch, if the pressure is just right (not to high or too low) the pressure switch will close and let the grounded signal reach the relay to click power on to the compressor. And the Pink wire that goes to pin 46 on the RB25 ecu is what tells the ecu the compressor is on. the ECU is looking for a ground at pin 46, so when you push the ac button and ground all 3 wires it sees the correct signal and registers as "AC relay on".

In summary, connect the B/P wire from the triple pressure switch and the P wire from the ECU to the Y/B wire from the dash harness. Doesn't get any simpler than connecting 3 wires.

It gets more complicated if you want to wire the fan controller into the triple pressure switch too, but not much.

Check out those madd paint skillz! The red and blue lines are the basic kit that I'm planning on running along the crossmember somewhere.

The green line includes a new drier and it is an adder.
