!!I got an e-mail today, asking how the door panel was done. Here is a copy-ish of what I sent him.
I didn't take pictures of the process though.
Doing the job is fairly simple if you take your time.First you've got to remove the door panel fabric, it's just glued on there so it should come off fairly easy, be careful still.
Then you've got to cut the removed fabric so it goes through the deepest section of the fabric. Be sure to leave some extra material around the edges, and where the door handle pops into. Now you have a template!
If you want to see how I cut through the fabric, take a look at the picture I took of my door panel and follow the red stitching, that's the path I took when I cut the fabric and it worked out fine.If you aren't using leather, some cloth materials can stretch, and might not need to be cut into two pieces.
Then trace the pattern onto the fabric you want to use, and then you sew it together!I glued it on there with this high strength glue from the local fabric shop, it came in a can so I brushed it on there and worked slowly and carefully with my dad.
As you're gluing it on, push the material into the edges, make sure to apply a thin layer of glue before pushing it in. I used the side of a small flathead screwdriver.
Also here are some quick pictures of the rear seats, the flash made them look weird, though.I still need to find a black speaker panel thingy for the back, and black seatbelt buckles.
Also, Broadfield has good info on doing the door panels and rear seats!
