Ok so I go to warm my car up so I can adjust my tps. Car is probably on for like 7 mins and as I'm lookin at my tps I look at the firewall right behind the intake mani up and to the right of the iacv and and all of a sudden a flow of coolant starts flowing out from this gromet where I guess a hose is suppose to be, looks kinda orange. Checked my rad and of course its dry. Iv had the car running and driving like this week now this happened. What do I do nico.
Thanks

what you should do is don't do what I did! Lol. I had the same leak and automatically thought it was heater core. Pulled the dash, pulled the heater core....heater core wasn't leaking. Turns out I had the lines stabbed so far onto the. Nipples and pressed against the fire wall that when the hose had a leak in the end of it, it leaked coolant into the cab! I felt so stupid! There should be two hoses there on the firewall that go to your cooling system and both are for the heater core.

So what exactly am I doing cause there is no hoses hanging from the firewall where the coolant came flowing out off

So someone bypassed the heater core? You need to see where the hose is that by passed it.

If that's the case then there may be coolant left in the heater core an is just slowly coming out.

The heater core and glovebox are out cause I was doing the wiring (sohc to dohc). I'll post a pic later tonight when I get off work

your heater core is busted. rather pull the dash and replace the heater core or take of the hose thats right under the busted one on the fire wall and run that hose to the one where the tube broke off. that will be a temporary fix until you replace the heater core....btw no heater until the core is replaced.

if never run the heater, i dont even know if it works. all i know is the big plastic fan from under the glovebox is out because of the wiring swap. what if i jus rig a way to connect the busted tube to the hose its suppose to go to from under the intake mani

thats what i meant. there are two hoses that go to the firewall, both are coolant for your heater core. one of yours is broken. take the one off that is not broken and route it to the hose that is broken, bypassing the heater core all together. voila years of reliability and no heat.

oooo ok i get you, is that safe for the motor. so im guessing if i ever wanted heat again id have to fix the top hose on the firewall and replace the heater core :/

yeah its perfectly safe because if you route it like i said than it would be no different than the coolant flowing through the heater core...just shorter distance. just make sure you bleed the hell out of the cooling system when you fill it. there is a bleeder screw by the upper radiator hose neck, crack the bleeder when filling the coolant and keep the bleeder cracked till coolant flows out. some guys like to burp and bleed there coolant on a hill so all the air bubbles go to the cap. hey look on the bright side....were almost out of winter.

Defiantly fix the gauge and bleed the coolant, but if the header is getting really hot it could be a clogged cat.

coolant temp sensors are about 10-15 bucks

Coolant bleeding

Jack the front of the car up
Take off radiator cap
Take a 2 liter pepsi bottle cut it in half and use some black electrical tape and wrap the bottle neck a little, or get a cooling funnel
Flip it around and place the bottle neck were the radiator cap was at. Pinch off over flow line if not using the funnel.
Now start filling it with coolant about half way
Remove bleeder screw
Close bleed screw after you get a nice even stream of coolant
Squeeze the upper, and lower lined and burp out the air
Add antifreeze until you over fill the rad by a quart
Turn the heat on full blast
Start the engine and let the engine run after 3-10 minutes the thermostat will open and suck in the excess antifreeze (ambient temp affects time)
Fill it again but with about a half of quart.
Let it run until no more bubbles come out. Squeeze hosed time to time.
Replace cap, unclamp overflow hose and then shut off the engine, fill over flow 1/2 to 3/4

Coolant funnel (best to have)
