Hoping for some knowledge. My radio controls for my 2008 Rogue, have stopped working. Yesterday I had to replace battery, bad cell. Before changing battery noticed controls on steering wheel had stopped working. After installation of battery knobs on radio also not working. Radio comes on and plays Cd's. Today it started going to mute after a few minutes of CD play. Any ideas or things for me to check. Have checked both fuses and they appear to be fine. Please help!

I was going to suggest pulling the fuses and re-installing, but it sounds like you've already done that.
The only other thing I could think of would be to go through the FSM radio/audio section to see if they mention any kind of unlock sequence.

Thank you for the link to the FSM. I cannot find any mention of unlock sequence. I did do system diagnostic test on radio and all areas were fine. After, that back to the same CD will play and radio, just cannot program. Control buttons still not working. Thank you, again!!

Hopefully you didn't cook something when you hooked up the battery. You didn't hook it up backwards momentarily did you?

I didn't hook it up. It was installed by a worker at O'Reillys . I watched him though. He took off my positive first and then negative. Negative first hook up and then positive. Is that correct? I hope something wasn't cooked either. Although the controls on my steering wheel were not working prior to battery replacement. I had drove car the day before and everything was fine. Day after Christmas is when I got in to start it and it wouldn't turn over and battery light stayed on while trying to start it. I then went to O'Reilly and had my battery tested was told I had a bad cell. I ran my errands. During that time I had working controls only on radio, none on steering wheel. I returned to O'Reillys and bought new battery.

Interesting. There may be a loose or dirty connector in the steering column or something. I'd suggest reading up on these couple of threads to see if they point you in the right direction.

I took it for a ride and was able to set one radio station that I can tolerate. Cd's are playing well. Now my airbag light in dash is blinking. Any suggestions? Thank you for the links, I will read them. I appreciate your help!!

From what I read in those other threads, it sounds like the airbag and audio controls all go through the same cable in the steering wheel/steering column. I'd definitely take a good hard look in that area.

I was able to stop airbag light from blinking. Turned ignition on until I saw light and then ignition off, count to 10, turn key back on. Repeating that two times. Then turned ignition to on and it was blinking slower. Repeated steps two more times. When I turned ignition back on airbag light turned on and turned off, as it normally would. Still working on other problems.
