I am a newbie and have a question related to a replacement radio on my 1967 520. I purchased the truck a few weeks ago after it was restored in NV (I am in TX). It currently does not have a radio. I am not set on the correct era radio, but open to suggestions on a new retro style (not sure which one will work), or if there is a certain era correct EOM radio that will work. Open to advice and suggestions. Will post pics of the truck in the future. Thank you in advance! larkworthy

Welcome aboard!

Great question. If you want to keep it looking "vintage", there's a company called "retrosound" that does some really neat classic-looking head units with modern "guts." Actually, if you do a Google search for "vintage car radio", you'll see several companies are doing this.

Occasionally, you might also run across a vintage unit on ebay - but the early Datsun radios weren't much to listen to. :)

If you decide to go modern, the sky is the limit, but be aware you may have to do some dash trimming.

Personally, I'd install a modern head unit in the glove box - if you get one with a USB reader or an aux cable input, you can hook up your iPod, MP3 player, or even play tunes through your phone. :)

Looking forward to seeing some pics of your 520!

AZHitman is steering you in the right direction.

I bet your truck is blue and beautiful. I would leave the radio delete place and mount a new head unit in the glove box or under the seat a control it with a wireless remote.

Picture please.
