My Velcro mounting wasn't working any more. Hot Memphis sun was melting the glue and making it slide down the windshield. Now I have a bunch of sticky crap on my windshield that I couldn't get off with WD-40 or Goo Gone.

What a waste of $20! Bought this universal super bracket off of Amazon. Oh yeah, it holds the detector ok, but OMG, what an ugly ring it makes on the windshield that you can see from the outside!!! :tisk: The way I had it mounted before you couldn't see it from any direction.

Maybe I should just drive the speed limit........NOT!!!!! :naughty:

I wish I could think of some way to mount it to my mirror. I don't know what I'm going to do. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrg!

Is there really such a thing or are you yanking my chain???

I centered it under the mirror today and it doesn't look so bad. It is probably in the spot now for optimum performance. People on Amazon complained that this thing doesn't last very long (heat/melting). I'll just see how it does.

I really is holding it firmly to the glass. No jumping or rattling.

Ooh! I like that Aud. Thanks. I put it in my favorites so if this thing croaks I can get one. This is what I have now. So far, so good, but you can see what people say.

there is a mount on amazon thats less than the blendmount... "uni mount" of something like that...

for me my V1 is just mounted high under the rear view mirror with suction cups and i have never had it drop off, even in direct sunlight of a 100 degree day down here in warner robins. I've had my V1 since 2008 and it has never dropped off... maybe im just lucky lol

What rims are you getting?

I saw a beautiful G this morning (35 coupe). Black and it had the most beautiful rims. Tried to get the guy to roll down his window so I could tell him how pretty it was. Guess he just thought I was a crazy old lady. :frown:

yeah i still have the stock 17 inch rim... i might go up to 18 inches... thats a big might lol. I perfer the smoother ride when crusing on highway. Same reason i didnt get the G37xS... i just figured id stiffen up the front with a brace, and so far im very satified.

I have 19's as it is so the ride probably won't be much harsher. Nothing I have not been able to deal with.

I should have them next week sometime. Went for an alignment the other day and was told the Eibach camber bolts i have are for a G35 instead of a g37 and I can't get my rear suspension in-spec :(

Now, the 19" sport wheels will be moved to the sedan so it will look much better too :)

Wow. Double whammy. :)

I really would like some rims. Don't know if I'm going to make the investment though. Just don't see me having the car but another year or two. I really don't know which way I would go with my color. Chrome or darker. I know I don't want black.

Things I have read about the next generation Z (2013) mention Hybrid power or Diesel engines. Don't know if I'm too excited about either. I'm too old school. :frown:

dang... so they just going to keep current model with small tweaks for 2 more years? The G has been running in ~3 year model incruments since it came out. That leads me to believe the 2015 G will be spectacular, well it better be if they going to break the ~3 year cycle.

The sedan always comes out first and per MotorTrend interview it won't be out until mid-2014 as a 2015 model....So, I would expect the new coupe to be mid-2015 as a 2016 model.

Yeah, that surprised the hell out of me as the gen-cycle is usually 5-6 years with Nissan/Infiniti. The current body for the sedan came out in 2007 and the coupe in 2008 so that means a 8-year cycle?

Well, that big suction cup thingy I ordered was a PIECE OF CRAP!!! The detector rattled and bounced up and down when I hit bumps. Got in my car Saturday morning and the thing had fallen off the w/s detector and all, which means, my radar detector bounced off either my dash or console.

I Googled and found this and ordered it. I like the design of it better than the blendmount and it was $20 cheaper. I'll let y'all know how it works.

yeah, I updated my sig after I put them on. I always look for deals and when Stance didn't offer me special pricing on one of their rims I went with these used ones. I have one wheel that needs two gouges repaired but that's relatively cheap compared to the deal I got.

I tell y'all right now, this bracket is the best EVER. Holds it snug and tight. No rattles or bouncing around and I don't have to worry about heat and it falling off the windshield!

I got it off this site here. Very nice folks and I had it right away. You pick which kind of detector you have and then there is a list of cars that tells you what size you need for your car. If your car isn't on there. The tell you how to measure the post of your rearview mirror.

http://www.countryjoycrafts.com/Connect ... ector.html

Mine is an Escort. You just take the suction cups off the mount and screw this bracket into the holes in the mount. (does that make sense?) Then you take the top off the bracket and attach it to the post of your mirror, then adjust the screws to make it sit right. The hardest part was getting it mounted to my mirror. OF COURSE....I HAD TO DROP A SCREW! Flat black screw in a car with a black interior. Took me a while to find it. It was in the track of my passenger seat. Should have gotten a magnet. All in all it was pretty easy. The instructions are funny as hell.

Easiest way to mount is to unscrew the mirror post if you can :dblthumb: I think it's still is pricey,.

I use world best suction cups (has 2 suction cups one over the other) and I had no issues (falling off or coming loose etc) These suctions cups are really cheap for less $2 each and will fit the radar detector brackets. :dblthumb:

What part of the country do you live in? Southern heat ruined any suction cups I tried to use. I like not having anything on my windshield. :)

OC , ca but use what works for you, I just provide info on suction cup with double cups in one. Works for me at fraction of the cost.

I'd like to try those suction cups for my detector mount. Can you post a link to where to buy or some keywords to search those specific cups.
