I have a 97 240 SX SE. I bought some E speed racing seats off ebay last week, they are the same thing as R1 seats, and they came with "universal brackets." They came in the mail today and they are great looking seats and the brackets bolt up to the seat fine, but they do not line up to the hole in the car. I called the guy and he said i could go to Home depot and get pieces or metal and custom weld together a bracket to fit the inside of my car and then line up the bolt holes on the bracket and slider that he gave me. If any of you know how to or have done this, please let me know, i appreciate it. here is the link for the auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1

THANKS

i installed a sparco seat in my 95. i made the brakets myself with a set out of an s-13 and metal stock from home depot. i put the bracket together with pop rivets for test fitting and then had a friend weld it together. i did not install sliders on mine so the seat would not be too high up. my seat fits me, it is as far back and as low as it can be. the sparco seat is a thicker seat than the nissan. so if it had sliders my head would be on the ceiling. can you drill new holes in the brackets so the holes will line up.

the brackets that the seats came with arent long enough. And i dont think i can take my own sliders off my stock seats, well i could but i dont see how it could work. I will just have to buy some metal and bend it and weld it to how i need it, just a pain is my ***.

Exactly. You bought 'universal brackets' didn't you? Unless you can part out your OE rails and brackets you'll have to fabricate a pair. That's why you buy brackets designed for your car.

by a set of brackets from the junk yard. i paid 10 for the pair. you can then work with them and your new bracket and still use your car while you do it.

looks like youre in for some custom work. "you get what you pay for," seems to be the case here. try to make a stink with the seller saying "you claimed theyd fit my car." otherwise, bring the sliders to a welding shop, looks like welding is inevitable here. good luck
