does anyone know if these are truly bolt-on with no modification needed? i have seen several pics of a maxima or two w/these installed and i like them better than the cifero headlights. since i now have the cifero's, which needed to be modified to fit, can i revert back to these easily? i know i had the previous corner brackets cut out to fit the ciferos...will that be a problem?? also, will these need added weather stripping to fit correctly?? any help would be appreciated!! thanks again!!

ben, from what i know it should mount right up. there are adjustment brackets that come with them. also here's a thread that really shows the horrid light pattern and prove that they should be retrofitted:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=499992

and here's one with the retrofit:

Those look good. I wish they made some for 3rd gens...although they'd look kind of goofy with clear corners on a 3rd gen.

im still confused. even if i have already cut "everything" off my car to make the cefiros fit, they include another bracket that these will mount too? i want to swap mine out but im afraid that since i cut off my stock corner brackets i wont have a place for the r34 style lights to mount to.

They look like they should work fine. I'm not sure how the beam pattern would be (if it would need to be retrofitted like the 4th gen ones) but the back looks just like stock other than the chrome, so you should be able to make them work without much trouble if they're not perfect out of the box.

those look like they're missing the diamond cut that comes on most if not all clear lens lights.

I like. Slap some HIDs in there and you'll be set.

I have them in my red 99 SE-L with 8000k HID's. They look nice but projectors are the way to go. Beam pattern is atrocious. Pics:

Welcome to NICO.

Was there any modification you had to do to get them to fit or did they just slide right in? I'm assuming that you had to replace a bracket?

Beautiful 4th gen you have there...got any more pics??

(and not to thread jack) but I've also been thinking about getting some new head lights, but what I really want is the side markers. Mine I have now look yellow while my main head lights are nice and clear. they look almost smoked. I'm talking about the corner lights that turn on when you put on the blinkers. Is there a way to replace just those or do I just have to buy the fully clear aftermarket ones?

You can replace the side lamp/corner marker assembly seperately from the headlights. You could just buy a new, un-oxidized set to get the clear look back. You might also try using a plastic restorer like Meguiar's Plastix on them. That stuff cleaned up my Maxima's and Ford's headlights fairly well, and it also glossed up my tail lights nicely.

There are plenty of aftermarket replacements that are nice and clear as well. The problem I have with them is that they all (at least all that I've seen) have clear corner markers which don't look right on our cars IMO. But if you don't mind the clear reflectors, that's probably the way to go.

Click.

Ok then, I'll try the Meguiar's Plastix 1st and then go from there. I really dont like the all clear corners either.

Thanks a lot! Hopefully it will do the job!

They bolted right up. The 2 headlamp bolts on the outter paer (towards the fender) screw into a provided bracket. No fitment issues whatsoever on my set. I got em from Ebay.com. Paid about $225 shipped.More red SE-L pics:

No, you are unfortunately SOL if you cut off the stock headlight bracket. The adapter bracket that is included bolts onto the stock bracket. Only solution for you is to weld the stock bracket back on or weld on a small slab of sheet metal so you can make mounting holes.

Thanks everyone for the compliments!! This is my second max. My first one was a 1995 SE that got totalled (not my fault). But with my insurance money and nothing outta pocket I got lucky and found the red 1999 SE-L. Heres my old max. I miss that whore.

I traded a 92 max se for them a while back. they go for about ~2000 with tires in the 19" version. Axis Hiro's.
