Can someone give me an idea what a R4 camshaft would d for my 1990 SOHC 240. Running a 4/10 mile circle track. A lot of guys have them but I don't know if it is worth the cost.

in normally aspirated form, its one of the main power parts that push my s13 to mid 13's in the 1/4 mile

Thanks, we run the whole track in third gar. Have plenty of power off the turns but would like more from 4000 to max. Everything is stock right now and I can only do so much. The guys that I think have the R4 are much stronger down the straight-a-ways than I am.

I am going to try it before the season begins and see what it does.

We all have the same gears( supposedly) The R4 camshaft is not legal but hey, when in Rome.

The twin cam cars have to weigh 2650 lbs. Single cams 2400. That evens them up. I wrecked my twin cam and am now running a single. The single cams won about everything last year. In one race, they pulled down the top three cars. All three had the R4 cam and the joker checking said they were all the same so he assumed all three to be legal.

As you can see, too much fun!
