A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Got a chip on its way for my spec v and since it reads off of afr and what not does anyone think the o2 sensor spacer will effect the chip in any way? If so what should I do?

I've got no clue, sorry for that, but where did you get it from?

I'm a bit suspicious of this chip. Who makes it and how much was it? The only B15 ECU "tuning" I've ever heard of is a reflash, not a full-fledged chip, as the code hasn't been cracked.

You said it "reads off AFR." Where/how is it installed? At $70, I can almost guarantee it's a scam, and these exist because it's easy to make money selling crap to people without a real formal vetting process for products to go through.

Ok so i got the chip..and it looks like a piece. a lil black box with two lil wires coming out of it. wires arent even copper if that matters. it also asks to be spliced into th two iat sensor wires on the harness for the maf using those quick splices. What do yall think? I dont see how any of that has to do with reading afr cause i thaught that was read off of the o2 sensor. Or am wrong. It also says that it might take up to 14 days for ur ECU to recognize it and start showing performance. Doesnt all of this sound like a bunch of b.s?

All that box hopes to do is trick the Maf to bump the air/fuel ratio. It isnt a tune. It tells the Maf that i needs more Oxygen.

There is no tune or chip that really works for the B15 Sentra. The closest things were the Technosquare reflash (No longer made) which i am not sure how it worked but some people swear it worked. Or the SAFC piggy back unit which could change air\fuel ratio.

Eh, sorta.

This is just another version of the classic IAT trick. You've been had. Next time run a search for "chip" in this section and see what results you get. We've had a LOT of members come in and ask about this and, fortunately, we usually get a chance to explain the scam before they waste their money.

Essentially, it's a resistor in the wire for the IAT signal. It makes it read colder than it is, thus making the ECU add more fuel on each combustion cycle. This richens your AFR. The companies that sell these things often simply say that it improves your AFR or some such crap, or claim that cars are tuned lean from the factory to improve gas mileage. This is a lie. Cars are tuned rich from the factory to ensure that there is no lean condition and resultant detonation in the cylinders during combustion.

DO NOT install this. It will give you LESS power and reduce gas mileage. Throw it in the trash and consider it a lesson learned.

The ONLY ECU "tuning," per se, available for B15 Spec's is an ECU reflash that only offers benefits (and still not a lot) if you have more significant non-turbo mods like cams. Piggybacks are also only effective in heavy-mods situations (at least cams, moreso and actually required with a turbo, though).
