I rewired the CA's main engine harness to connect to the USDM KA lower stuff via the 8 pin connectors at the fusebox behind the battery.. sounds like alot of trouble, but since my harness was a hackjob attempt at rewire before I got it, it was insignificant to the trouble of making it work at all.. lol

a few CA specific things that normally go down there like the knock sensor we just wired direct to the main harness.. not sure if anything else was like that offhand but I remember that one was..

use the KA lower harness, hard wire the knock sensor. Check the FAQ's; there's a nice write up in there!

Anyone? I was informed awhile back that the CA harness would be ok but there seems to be some debate on that now.

Edit: Looking at the faq it appears that the battery terminals are the only thing to swap on the lower harness?

Using the Ca lower harness is ideal. That is what I did and it was plug-n-play. I had a SOHC car though, so the wire to feed the knock sensor wasn't in the chassis harness, so I had to hard wire it to the ECU.

here's what you do to make the KA plug and play:

pull the speed sensor, neutral sensor, and 5th gear sensors from the side of the KA transmission, put them in the CA transmission. Then all your plugs line up properly. Its so easy I can't believe this thread is still going. Honestly if you can't figure out how to do this, find someone else to install your motor!

Or use the CA lower harness and the CA sensors. WOW.
