1. originally part of the variable intake system, this is fresh air hookup that goes into the intake pipe after the MAF, so when the ECU switches the butterflies from vacuum to atmosphere to open them it can pull in air from here, filtered and metered (as the air then gets pulled vacuum out via the vacuum tank to the intake manifold - this is all under ECU control via a solenoid).
if you don't hook up the variable intake butterflies to the ECU via solenoid control you don't need this. you coul recycle it to run wastegate connection from the intake manifold instead of direct from turbo (capping the nipple on the compressor, or if you have an aftermarket unit might not have to do that) if you want.
2. where is this? could be ABS sensor connetion, thats most likely what it is from the look of it, don't think anything else on the engine harness has that type of connector.
