I have been around for several new model rollouts and model line updates in my time working for Infiniti. As the technology specialist at the dealer level I enjoy all these bells and whistles more than the average tech, and look forward to learning more about this new model. I foresee the first few months of the Q50 roll out coming with some interesting questions, and concerns. Most of the car operates like a normal vehicle but the a few parts of the safety technology, optional Direct Adaptive Steering, and InTouch system are new to all of us right now.

We have had quite a bit of new model training on the car but much of this is very new to us too. As with any new model from any brand there has to be a little extra patience. We have had some degree of success doing this with new model issues and common concerns in a few now older models.

This appears to be a great car and I think the increased ability to customize the characteristics of this car will take some getting used to, but should be able to be dialed in for almost everyone.

No it is not on all Q50s. If it has the Deluxe Touring package it will have it. All Hybrid models will have it though.

So what is your assessment after driving one? I've heard the steering feels numb and disconnected. How's the power delivery...same as the G37? Anything else worth mentioning?

I like it quite a bit. I would like having the ability to adjust steering feedback and steering ratio combined with some of the tech features that stabilize the wheel over imperfect surfaces or counter cross winds effect by subtly moving the wheels when required. There is a feedback motor that engineers steering feel to the wheel. There are a few nuances that I can see some people not liking but most people I have talked to who unknowingly drove a Q that has it did not know it was any different.
