Do you have issues with bottoming out or scraping the pavement? Any curb clearance issues?

Coilovers or Eibachs???

No serious issues. I'm on BC coilovers. It did have to raise the front a bit since I was bottoming out quite often but there is still a fair bit of clearance. I can clear the average speedbump with no real issues. However, if you have an X, be careful with the bearings and CV boots as my old G37X sedan had serious issues when I slammed it. I was going through boots like crazy and 3 of my wheels bearings went and I only put like 8k miles on the coilovers.

If you lower the car with the BC coils, and have the Aero bumper, be esp. careful. From my observation, it sits a little bit lower and further out than the factory sport bumper. I'm sitting somewhat pretty low and have never bottomed out, but I do get an occasional scrape here and there.

^ THIS!!!!! On my last M I had the Aero kit and it was scraping EVERYWHERE even with only a slight drop. Now that I have the sport without Aero I'm MUCH happier.

How far out of range are your alignment specs at this height? How bad is your tire wear?

Wideopn11, do you have any side pics showing how low your car is?
TheMajesticking, how low do you have the coilovers set in those pics? Thats a good looking M, fellow Marylander. :)

@TheMajesticKing, I love that stance on your M. Are you using spacers? What size are your tires in the back? Makes me want to switch out to coilovers.

Looks good. I think the springs will put me right about where I want to be. Nice write up too.

None of your pics work in that thread. Did you delete them from your photo hosting site?

Also, for anyone else, did anyone have alignment issues after their car was lowered? springs or coilovers?

Hello, my M is lowered on Eibachs as well, the alignment went OK as far as I know, but I haven't seen camber kits for these cars yet. Eibachs don't drop the car very low though, I may try Tanabe springs or just get coilovers if I were to do it again.

The car looks good, but I think I would want to lower it just a bit more to get rid of all the wheel gap...but that would just be me. I have Tanabe coilovers on my G and I love how they ride while keeping the car pretty flat through turns. the front bumper scrapes a little over steeper drive ways but it doesnt' bother me. I just don't want to have any camber issues and eat through tires every few months.

It seems that Megan racing offers a camber kit, traction arms and toe arms for the M's now. Has any one seen these or have experience with them?

i was told that only a rear camber kit was necessary. If I buy (this weekend possibly) and lower (much later lol) then I will probably see if they can be aligned without them before I purchase and install them.

I still can't believe there isn't a lot of input for those that have lowered their cars if the alignment worked out ok...

Sorry, mild drop for me at the moment so no issues. If I switch to coilovers I will definitely be looking into these camber parts. If you get these installed please take lots of pics.

I'll try to keep this thread in mind if/when it actually happens. It might be a ways away, but I've lowered every car I owned and this one won't be any different :)

Thanks for the compliments guys.
I have a small bit of negative camber but not enough to really negatively affect tire wear. It's lowered about 1.5" I believe. I'd have to check my fender-to-ground clearance.

Holy crap that's low!! Looks amazing. How long has it been that low? My G37x was going through axles like crazy when I was that low.

It could be a combination of being slammed and the quality of the BC coilovers themselves. You're not the only person that has had issues with them. I wouldn't ride them too long if you're feeling a vibration and get it checked out ASAP. It could be a bushing going bad or ball joints that are too stressed from being too low.

Man that's hot, I see you're running 20x10's all around any issues turning?
