Im in process of putting small boost setup on my truck. 95 2wd ka24e. My truck is obd1 and runs fine on 240sx ecu. Only problem I have is tach doesn't work. Ive read the fsm for ecu pinouts on truck and 240sx. There are few wires that are different. I believe truck was pin 3 and 240sx number 2. (Would have to double check been a few months.) I swapped pins on harness and still no tach. Is there any way to run 240 ecu with and keeping the factory tach.

Yes, chip and program a U12 Stanza KA24E ECU instead.

Well I wouldn't say wrong, it'll run because it's controlling a KA24E. The advantage of the U12 computer is it's ability to be scanned by Consult for tuning purposes so you can tune it to be a 240sx. As for the tach, that to me seems more of a pinout issue than a ECM issue. HybridKA is a great source for KA computer information, hours of reading there.

Hey, fng here again. Reading that i should run a different computer. The 240 ecu give more power or more efficient?? I'm a diy kinda guy but electrical is scary to me.

Get the stanza ecu. Plug and play. I just picked one up and tach works. Deff more power. Really notice on highway up hills. You will have to modify bottom ecu cover off truck ecu to mount the stanza ecu. You see when get it how it goes.

I deliver pizza in this little beast. And it rolls flawlessly everyday. Slow & steady makes me about $17hr. I want the power but can't afford the mpg loss. Already got automatic gas millage. An specific stanza? What did it do for mpg? Anything else on these trucks u can think of let me know.

Honestly If you are using for work I would just leave it. Your not going gain much in day to day driving. When I was NA with truck ecu I got 24 avg was all.
