I searched and found nothing...

Someone told me that the KA24 transmission will work with a CA18DET if the CA bellhousing is used...is this true, and if so, if I bought an automatic CA would I be able to use my 5-spd KA transmission?

Thanks for any help!

unfortunately no, automatic and 5spd bellhousings differ at the transmission end.

however you may be able to find a bell housing from a 5spd s12 200sx w/ CA18ET/CA20E, a few people seem to have made that work. the whole transmission however wouldn't line up properly.

i just picked up my auto ca18det the other day. 4 hours in the junkyard and i left with my ca20e bellhousing, still need a 5speed ka transmission to bolt it up to though. if you plan on leaving the junkyard with only the bellhousing and not the transmission attached to it, make sure to bring a skinny punch, hammer, chisel, bigger punch (~1/4 inch), and snap ring pliars, plus you basic sockets and wrenches up to 17mm i believe to get it out of the car. Check out the FSM on how to seperate bellhousing from transmission, thats how i figured out.
