Hey,

So i from Canada and dont have any Scion dealers.. Or Toyota dealers that sell scions. (However it works)The company seems like it targets the modified car market. As all their advertisements are of cars that can be modified. So this brings me to my question. Is the scion TC FWD or RWD? Im assuming its FWD.

That being said, why is there such a HUGE enthusiast group on a car like that? When its stock its at 160hp, but i constantly see adds of people modding them to 300-400 WHP. Now my question is , when the Altima came out with its 270 hp going to the front wheels, people were crying about torque steer. So why dont ppl do so with the Scion tC?

I bring this up because im jealous. If nissan threw in more money for aftermarket parts for their cars (Z , G and A/c ) imagine what the A/C's potential could be. I hope the aftermarket booms in a few years for our cars like it has the scions.

Well, Scion has been marketed to younger generations since it was conceived by Toyota. As far as the after market, remember that the Altima Coupes haven't been out for all that long, and TRD (Toyota Racing Development - Toyota's version of Nismo) makes a long list of parts for the cars that can be purchased and installed at the dealership, including a super charger for the tC. Also, the Scions are a few thousand dollars cheaper than an Altima, making it more available to young kids, who make up the larger part of people that want to modify their cars.

One word: PRICE. The Scion is cheap; therefore, younger people will buy it, or have their parents buy it for them. Now what 17 year old could afford $25K+? Not very many.

Also Scion's history predates its arrival in the US. Before that the car was already sold in Japan - so the aftermarket existed then too. Also Toyota is very aggressive with its factory available mods - you can trick it out at the dealer and roll it all into the monthlynote.

That's crazy to hear canada has no scion dealer! purchased the 1st one to hit charleston, wv (2005) now my husband has one. Besides being inexpensive, they are a lot for the $$$. You can spend all your cash on extras, my old one is still recognized on the road. i am real surprised at the weight of the a/c compaired to the tc... Handles better than expected. In a few months, we will all see more acc on the market, just hope I don't see as many a/c's on the road as tc' s ( one of the reasons I got rid of mine ) still enjoy driving my husbands once in a while

Since it's Canada the price they charge us would make the car expensive enough to make it out of reach of young people. Totally removing the point of a cheap car for youth.
